Yelp can be a major advantage, and disadvantage, for businesses. The site offers a way for customers to share their experiences and opinions, which can create buzz and attract customers. But, did you know you can also get paid to write reviews on Yelp? For some people, this even ends up being a significant source […]
Online Writing Jobs Reviews
The core of my job every day is just writing, writing, writing. That's why I'm super confused why natural writers will sell their work online. Inside my head I'm screaming, "You could be making bank with your own affiliate website!
Writers are the lifeblood of online commerce, so there's tons of gigs out there. However, there are a lot of scams as well, and somewhere in the middle there are just crappy jobs that don't pay very much and are unsatisfying.
These articles are a mix of reviews I've done of writing gigs (or outsourced them to writers for them to review). Some are website which claim to pay you for articles, while others are portals where you can source writing gigs.
My favorite is UpWork, and that's what I use to hire writers, but from a writer's perspective, you may prefer other platforms.

Introduction to CustomPapers.com Website: CustomPapers.com Looking for web page design from the Jurassic period? Look no further than CustonPapers.com. The site creates academic papers of all sorts — from admission essays to college to poetry to dissertations. Aesthetic appeal is not really necessary to market the site. It’s just a matter of looking smart and […]
Introduction to Content Runner Website: Contentrunner.com The site is professional enough. Marketing content on the home page is aimed at agencies who want content but don’t want to find and cultivate their own crew of freelance writers. There is plenty of art and sophisticated site design to suggest Content Runner is above the norm. The […]
Introduction to Boost Media Website: boostmedia.com Boost media lacks high-end design. Nothing too bold and beautiful jumps out from a marketing standpoint. Much of the opening page is full of jargon about ad creative and how this concept affects their clientele. The site does say they have a thousand or so copywriters are on hand, […]
Introduction Website Crowdcontent.com The design of Crowd Content is typical for a content mill. It’s client-centric and professionally done. The one thing that separates the opening page from others is its focus on products, which include: Blog posts Product descriptions Tweets Facebook Posts Metadata Ebooks White papers Press releases New letters It’s odd to run […]
Introduction to Blogmutt.com This site has a relatively modern design, pointing to Blogmutt’s sophistication. Yet the company name includes “mutt,” a throwback to when the internet was a few years younger. So, it’s a retroactively modern site at first glance. But did I get paid for writing? Not yet, though there’s promise. The writing test […]
Introduction to BKA Content Website: BKAcontent.com You won’t find impressive design work at BKA Content. The opening page has one big pretty picture and rows of text about the site’s content strategy, but nothing stands out and there is little art to liven up the content. And the actual content pushes its content written by […]
Introduction to Article Document Website: articledocument.com The design of this site grabbed my attention. Everything was bright and Art Deco-ish, a departure from the usual gray, drab design elements of your average content mill. There were diamonds, pentagons, and other shapes — more than the usual boxes framing items like headlines. Even the pictures and […]
Introduction to Contentmart Website: Contentmart.com Contentmart says it bridges great writers with those that want content. Nothing new there. What’s different is the international flair. This India-based site delivers content in more than 20 languages, which lends a touch of grandiose. The site further backs this concept with data: 135,224 clients 311,087 writers 75,312 successfully […]
Introduction to Talent Inc. Website: Talentinc.com This New York City-based company is not your normal freelance writing site. They do offer jobs to writers who can work remotely and provide the flexibility one might expect from a freelance position. But, at the same time, they are a typical company. They are big, have many employees, […]
