Your blog should be set up by now and you should have already published some articles. If you haven't done that yet, please go back to Level 1. All of the stuff in Level 2 is going to be about refining and building on your skills from the beginner lessons.
As mentioned in the introduction to Level 1, I do things a bit differently from a lot of the other courses out there, and that's a good thing. It means you have less “junk” to manage in your head.
Your main job moving forward, from this point is simply to find topics to write about and then publish articles on those topics. That means keyword research and publishing content. This will be the focus on Level 2 of your training.
Writing an article is one thing.
Writing an article that gets found in Google is another thing.
Writing an article that gets found in Google and generates sales is what we want to do.
It's OK if this doesn't happen right away. Honestly, it took me a long time to become a good writer. Years. Even now, I look back on content I created a few years back and cringe. You'll be improving every year, and the more you write, the better you get.
While writing a full 1500 word article may be a challenge now, with practice, you'll be able to do 1 per day pretty easily, even if you have a full time job. Even 3 per week is a decent pace. That's 150 articles per year all drawing traffic and creating a “snowball effect” of success.
Intermediate Affiliate Blogger Training Lessons 1-9
One bit of advice before you dig into these lessons is to really put yourself in the viewpoint of the reader of your website. Who's going to read your article?
Think about how you feel when you do online research and how grateful you are to find well written, simple articles that solve a problem for you, whether that be an easy-to-understand tutorial, a well-done product review, or an information article that answers your question without all the fluff… we all know the difference between good shit and bullshit.
I spent a full year of my blogging in that phase and looking back, it was a total waste of energy. Save yourself the time and don't write bullshit because you want to make money.
Lesson 1: What Does “Creating Content” Mean & Types Of Content You Can Create
In Lesson 1 I'll cover a few of the main types of content that I create and know how to create. But what is content?
You'll hear over and and over again that “content is king”, and I'll harp on this as well. The more content you create, the more chances you have of getting ranked. It's just statistics!
Personally, I mainly stick with written content (articles AKA blog posts), and video content (YouTube).
Lesson 2: How To Actually Rank For Keywords (And Not Waste Your Time)
In Lesson 2 I dig deeper into keyword research, why it's important, and how you can improve your keyword research skills. A keyword with some good stats from your keyword tool isn't a magic bullet for ranking. There's a lot more to it.
The better you can identify good keywords and create content based on those keywords, the more efficient your business will be. I've wasted thousands of hours and $10,000's of dollars going after keywords which were a total waste of my time. Learn from my mistakes, and read my top tips.
Lesson 3: SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Checklist
In Lesson 3 I go over a basic checklist of what you should be looking at in terms of SEO on each blog post you publish. In my opinion, lots of people overcomplicate SEO because it helps their brand of online marketing and they get to sell lots of SEO tools that make you feel like you're doing a good job.
As stated in the beginner training, I want you to get results. I break all kinds of “SEO rules” and still make bank with my websites, so really a lot of the stuff you read online is just noise.
This checklist will get you where you need to go.
Lesson 4: Image SEO
In Lesson 4 I show you my main image SEO techniques. Pretty simple stuff.
Lesson 5: Video SEO
In Lesson 5 I show you my main video SEO techniques. Pretty much same as image SEO, with a few unique elements.
Lesson 6: The Power Of Product Reviews For Generating Affiliate Sales
Lesson 6 is about product reviews. Product reviews are extremely powerful for making affiliate sales because you can be confident the reader is ready to buy. Shilling products isn't the answer though.
One key element to a good product review is to imagine yourself in the buyer's shoes. That's pretty easy since we all buy stuff online, so have some empathy for your website visitors and create a quality product review.
There are many ways to go about reviewing products, and no single way to guarantee sales. I'll show you what I do, but you should definitely run with your own ideas and see what works for your niche and brand.
Lesson 7: Turning Traffic Into Sales With Affiliate Funnels
In Lesson 7 we look at more of a “top level” concepts and envision how we turn website visitors into money. We're busy creating all this helpful content, but what's going to be the ROI on all this work, and how do we increase revenue over time?
Lesson 8: Generating An Unlimited Number Of Content Ideas For Your Blog
Lesson 8 is about generating tons of ideas for your blog. If you've run out of content ideas after a few weeks or months, you need to reframe your niche, or you are looking at things from the wrong perspective. That absolutely doesn't mean you need to “change your niche” or anything crazy like that.
I just mean that there are an unlimited number of ideas for any blog, and you just need to think about how to frame your mindset to discover more keyword sets.
Lesson 9: Analyzing Your Web Traffic To Measure Results & Plan The Future
In Lesson 9 we'll look at how to analyze your traffic so that you can double down on what's working, and cut out what's not.
You pretty much have an overview of the entire affiliate blogging thing now, so it's all about refinement and skill building at this point.
Continue Your Training In Level 3: Advanced Affiliate Blogger Training
The advanced affiliate blogger training covers two areas, outsourcing, and any loose ends regarding being an online business owner. It's pretty undeveloped as of 2020, but I'll be adding more in 2021.
I'm trying to get Level 1 and 2 all done by Dec 31 2020, so if you're reading this now, come back in a few days and these two sections will be done, with maybe some extras added to Level 3.
