Google AdSense is one of the legit ways people make money online. The search giant has a strong focus on quality, and this is part of what makes it one of the best advertising networks out there.
Are You Ready To Work Your Ass Off to Earn Your Lifestyle?
Are you tired of the daily grind? With a laptop and an internet connection I built a small website to generate income, and my life completely changed. Let me show you exactly how I’ve been doing it for more than 13 years.
Consumers don’t mind advertising as long as they aren’t intrusive or downright ugly. AdSense understands this and always strives to show the most appropriate ads.
Whenever someone asks why didn’t my AdSense account get approved, I know it probably has something to do with their site’s overall quality.
Answer: Adsense rejections are normally due to low-quality or not enough content
AdSense has strict policies and shows no mercy to websites that violate them. This is the main reason why a lot of Webmasters have a hard time getting approved. Fortunately, you can increase your chances. Get ahead of things by studying AdSense TOS (terms of service).
But that’s boring, and there won’t always be clear connection to why you were rejected.
What To Do If Your Account Has Been Disapproved
The truth is that AdSense by itself isn’t enough to make a living from unless you have massive amounts of web traffic. Once you get to those levels of traffic, I highly recommend an Ad Network that includes Adsense like MediaVine or AdThrive.
Even then, display ads don’t pay much and can look ugly if you overdo them. Many times, you can make much more money with less traffic by doing affiliate marketing.
Learning how to get traffic to your site and marketing affiliate products can be very lucrative.
Three Main Reason For Adsense Rejection
- Low-quality website content
- Low volume of content
- Multiple AdSense accounts
I don’t recommend you reapply until you’ve identified the issue and made any necessary changes. Also, worth noting is that no website is allowed to re-open or even reapply for an account if they were banned for serious offenses (e.g. invalid traffic).
The main difference between a banned and disapproved account is whether or not your case would be heard if adjustments were made. Typically you can always reapply if your website’s application was primarily rejected for the above-mentioned reasons.
Accounts that are halted for serious issues (e.g. illegal activities, pornographic content) cannot reapply. Though exceptions are plausible in very few instances. There are instances where accounts were reinstated, but really I’ve only heard of this one or two times before.
How to Fix Problems With Website Content
Review AdSense policies and prohibited content types to make sure your website in compliance. Note that these policies can change over time so it’s a good idea to revisit them every now and then.
To reapply or notify AdSense that you’ve addressed violations, simply log in to your account and confirm their resolution.
Common content policy violations include but may not be limited to the following.
- Adult content
- Any derogatory or other content that is perceived as dangerous.
- Content that promotes the use of recreational drugs or other drug-related content, including any Tobacco and alcohol-related information (exceptions made for food websites related to wine, beer, spirits)
- Gambling websites or video game-related sites for gamblers.
- Any malicious activity such as hacking and cracking or the promotions of such activities.
- Compensation programs that reward users for clicking on AdSense or other ads.
- Misrepresentative content such as misleading your visitors with fake endorsements or reviews.
- Shocking or disturbing content containing things like disgusting imagery or depictions of violence
- All weapon-related content such as firearms, knife use, etc.
- Anything that is dishonest or encourages the behavior.
- All illegal content.
Note that original publication is also of importance to AdSense. They clearly state that you need to have your own original content created from scratch in their eligibility requirement. In addition, you must be 18 years of age to participate.
What About Multiple AdSense Accounts
Only one account per publisher is allowed, which makes sense because it’s easier to manage and control ad delivery this way. Common mistake newbies make is to create additional AdSense accounts instead of adding their websites to an existing one.
Why Google AdSense?
Adsense is of the oldest advertising networks in existence, and they have a great reputation for paying publishers on time, as well as providing an effective platform for advertisers.
There are plenty of Adsense alternatives out there too, including Media.net and Chitika, but they don’t pay nearly as much. Media.net is a decent alternative, and does do very very well for some bloggers, but not usually.
As I mentioned before, I highly recommend getting hooked up with an ad network because they make more money. You just need to have the minimum traffic numbers to meet their requirements, which could be 25k session up to 100k sessions per month!
If you want to test more ad positions to optimize your earnings, an ad management plugin could help.
When AdSense is No Longer An Option
Are you permanently banned?
There are still many more ways to make money online. Here are some more online business models you can consider too. You don’t have to be a general high-traffic blogger with display ads to earn money online. There are so many methods out there, and I know that one will fit your personality type and income expectations.
