Do I Recommend Asirvia?
If you knew enough small business owners, you might be able to make money with Asirvia. But, for everyone else, the company seems like an odd choice with limited potential. What you’re promoting is going to be too obscure for most people and sales would be difficult right from the beginning. As a result, I don’t recommend the company at all. After all, you can use affiliate marketing to make money from products that are actually popular.
What Products Does Asirvia Sell?
Asirvia focuses on digital marketing, with the idea of using technology to reach more people and to market business. Their main product is called the GO. This is a small device that is used to send push notifications to people in your local area.
These notifications can include information and a link – and can be viable up to 100 yards away.
The company recommends the idea for storefront businesses, service providers and sales professionals. But, the style also applies to anyone with products or ideas that they want to promote.
Customers don’t pay for the items outright. The company charges a monthly fee instead, based on how many units the customer has:
- 1 unit: $25 per month
- 3 units: $49 per month
- 8 units: $99 per month
The monthly aspect does potentially mean consistent income, if you can get sales initially. Asirvia uses a system called GO Services to help people manage their notifications and other settings.
As a product, the GO is unusual but not unique. The company Royaltie promotes the same concept, with a similar compensation plan.
Unusual doesn’t mean good anyway. The underlying concept here is an odd one and I’m not sure it makes sense. Using the device basically means spamming people in your local area with alerts that they probably don’t want (and mightn’t see). Many people won’t be aware that they can receive this type of alert and may not be happy about the idea either.
There are also limitations. The alerts only go out to Android phones and only to people with Bluetooth and location services turned on. Many people won’t have those aspects enabled, especially if they keep getting random notifications. You’re also advertising to a limited area.
Of the people who do get the alerts, many may not notice them or won’t take them seriously. So, you end up paying for a system that has limited power.
For a physical business, the idea might make sense. For example, the alerts could be used to promote specials and get people in the door. The company depicts it like this:
For small businesses, this style could even give them a marketing edge. But honestly, how many physical small business owners do you know? Of those, how many would be interested in the technology and willing to use it?
You end up with a pretty small audience. To make sales, you’d have to branch out to other groups of people.
For that matter, most affiliates seem to use the system to promote the exact same thing. This would mean sending out messages to highlight that you can do so and then linking through to sales pages for Asirvia.
This type of advertising is just spam. You might convince some people – but you’re more likely to make them angry.
In some ways, this is similar to the idea of stuffing envelopes for cash. You could make some sales but probably not many. Instead, most of your energy would be wasted.
Simply put, there isn’t that much value in the devices. Most people would end up using them to promote Asirvia itself, which doesn’t seem like a good long-term strategy.
Is Asirvia A Good Business Opportunity?
Asirvia members start off as affiliates for the company, where they earn 25% commission on sales. This commission is based on the sales made within the first month after a customer signs up.
You don’t seem to keep earning that 25% every month where they’re a member. After this point, income comes from residuals.
The company isn’t entirely clear how this calculates out. But it looks like you earn 25% of the initial sale and then 10% of the monthly fee for people that you directly recruit.
The commission rate isn’t horrible but it’s not amazing either. After all, a single unit just costs $25 per month and many customers won’t need more than one. You’d have to sell many the devices to ever make money from sales alone.
And remember, you’ve only got one product to promote. This severely limits your options. In contrast, companies like red rock Traditions and Younique offer a range of items, which are likely to appeal to a much wider audience.
To earn beyond this, you need to turn to the team building aspect, which means becoming an Independent Representative (rather than affiliate). To make that transition, members need to enroll three (or more) customers and recruit one affiliate.
The compensation plan works through a unilevel system. Under this structure, the people you recruit are placed directly under you and the people that they recruit are under them. This makes it easy to see who recruited who.
The income you can earn is then based on where people fall in that system. The bonuses below are examples of this concept.
So, Generation 1 is the people you recruit directly, Generation 2 is the people they recruit and so on. As a general rule, the percentage you earn goes down with the generation. This pattern is the same across most MLMs.
The idea is powerful, in theory. If you have a large team, it starts to look a bit like a pyramid, with each level having more than the one before it. When this happens, the total that you can earn overall can be substantial.
There are also other bonuses at play. For example, there is a rank system. Each rank offers new bonuses and also provides regular income.
It’s easy to see how this can get profitable fast.
There will be other aspects and complexities of the plan but Asirvia doesn’t offer details about these. Regardless, the general idea is the same as other MLMs – the more you grow your team, the more you can earn.
One other note. To make money, you need to have the Asirvia Business Center, as does everyone that you recruit. There is a monthly fee to have this center, although Asirvia doesn’t state what the fee amounts to.
Actually Making Money
This begs the question, what’s the problem? Even with a questionable product, Asirvia looks pretty good on paper. If you could progress far enough through the system, then your income potential would be high.
The catch is the if. Most people who join an MLM never progress very far.
One problem is the personal nature. You’re typically trying to sell and recruit to people on an individual level. This requires a considerable amount of work.
Asirvia GO does allow you to reach more people than you could normally (in theory, anyway). But you still have to convince them to actually join and to do the work. Most of us aren’t actually that good at sales, especially not when we’re talking to the customer face-to-face. It’s even more difficult if you have to convince people to be interested in something they’ve never heard about previously.
You also need to heavily rely on your team. Asirvia is simpler than most in this respect and it doesn’t look like your team members need to progress through ranks. Even so, you’d need some of them to be making regular sales.
This is one of the trickiest parts. You can’t force people to be successful. You can’t even make them work if they don’t want to. My own experience has taught me that people are, on average, lazy. Some will be willing to put in the hard work and grow their own business. But, most won’t.
If you’re someone who has the dedication that it takes to be successful – great! But, there’s a good chance that many of your team members aren’t. So, weigh this up seriously before you get started.
The income disclosure statement from Asirvia also sheds some light on this topic. They suggest that the average gross income is between $500 and $2,000. This is just an estimate and the company doesn’t have any statistics to offer (partly because they’re new).
$500 to $2,000 sounds like a decent amount of money but that’s only $41 to $166 per month. You’d probably have to do considerable work to even reach those income levels.
So sure, you can earn money, especially if you put in the time. But, Asirvia offers few advantages and isn’t a powerful option. There are simply too many better choices out there.
Previous Business Model
It’s worth noting that Asirvia has dramatically changed its approach recently. Focusing on the GO device is a fairly new business move. In the past, Asirvia offered a range of products related to web security. Those could be purchased individually or as part of a package.
Some of those services included:
- Tax Minimizer Pro
- Roadside Assistance Xtra
- Online Data Backup Pro
- ID Theft Premium Protection
Those services were all billed monthly, so customers never ended up with any actual products in the long-term. The style clearly didn’t work too well, as Asirvia changed almost much everything with their new model.
I get that companies need to learn and develop over time. Still, it’s never encouraging when they completely change their model and approach. It makes me wonder how effective the new style is. Are they simply going to change again if this one doesn’t work?
This is a particularly large problem with direct marketing.
The main goal is that you make money by building and maintaining a comprehensive team. Being successful at this takes considerable time and dedication. People who do find success often spend years perfecting their marketing strategies, along with growing their teams.
There’s nothing wrong with taking time to build a business. Any legitimate method of making money is going to take time and effort, that’s just the way the world works. But, if you’re going to put that energy in, the model needs to be sustainable. If not, there’s a risk that all of your work will be for nothing.
Asirvia has already had one failed model – there’s a good chance they’ll have another. That aside, there’s only one product on offer and it doesn’t seem strong enough to build an income stream from.
So then, why bother?
With enough time and effort, you could possibly make Asirvia work. But, you’d be putting considerable energy into an idea that isn’t powerful and could potentially disappear overnight.
This is why I focus on other models instead. For example, using affiliate programs allows you to promote items from multiple companies at the same time. You can also choose more competitive products, ones that have a good chance of selling.
With this style, there is much more long-term potential. Even if one of the companies that you promote goes under, your entire business won’t collapse with it.
In fact, having multiple income streams is critical for any business approach. Relying on a single company will always put you at risk. That risk is much higher if the company doesn’t seem reliable to begin with.
Asirvia offers an unusual product, along with a conventional compensation plan and a recently changed direction. There is simply nothing that makes the company stand out as a way to earn.
