What's up everyone, my name's Nathaniell, and I'm the guy who started One More Cup of Coffee. I teach people how to make money from blogging. I've been doing this successfully for more than 10 years now, and honestly, it's a lot easier than you think. I can definitely show you how to do what I do, and how to design a pretty awesome lifestyle for yourself.
For me, being in this business isn't about getting rich. It's about having time to do the stuff I really want to do, like fix up my house, make beer on the weekends, and spend time with my family. In fact, the name One More Cup of Coffee came from the days when I worked a real job and hated having to rush out the door every morning.
All I wanted is a little bit of extra time in the morning for a second cup of coffee.
Well, that dream came true, and I can show you exactly how I did it and how you can repeat the same process for yourself.
I wasn't always an internet marketer; in fact, I've done quite a few different jobs over the years.
Internet marketing was just the career path that ‘clicked' for me, mostly because I could do it from the comfort of my own home and according to my own schedule.
But let's start a bit further back; if you're going to get to know me, you should know a bit about where I'm from and what I've done.

People always ask me…
They say, “Well, you got started in 2010. Did I miss the gravy train? I'm sure there's too much competition now, so I'd never stand a chance!”
But the funny thing is that it's easier than ever to make money online. Why? There's two simple reasons:
- More products are being sold online now. People are shifting more and more of their shopping habits to the online world and that just wasn't the case even 5-10 years ago. Even small businesses and grocery stores are selling their products on the internet!
- There are more tools to make starting your business easier. Before, you had to code everything in HTML and be internet savvy. Now, there's tools to automate everything. Thousands of people have made the journey before, and you can use their wisdom to make your path easier.
It's kind of like traveling. In the past, you had to take a ship and spend weeks on the ocean to reach far-off places. Once there, you had to make your own adventure!
Now, You can reach any destination in the world within 24 hours. There's a guidebook for every country in every language, and there are smartphone apps for instant translation to your native language.
Nowadays, it's easier than ever to get started making money online because there are so many more resources available to you, and you can just “follow the guidebook” to get where you need to go (owning a money-generating website).
So, back to the story of how I got started…
I grew up in California, but left soon after graduating high school to travel in Europe. I was completely bored in the US and wanted to see the world. At the time, I had a friend living in Prague, so used her house as my “home base” between trips. When I needed money, I freelanced as an English teacher.
Eventually I landed a pretty sweet job as a kindergarten teacher, so I was officially getting paid to play duck-duck-goose and hide-and-seek for a few hours a day.
After a few years doing that, I broadened my horizons and set my sights on China. I wanted to learn Mandarin and start the next chapter in my travels.
China was wild. I made tons of friends, traveled all over the country, and became fluent in Mandarin.
But after being in China for a while, I began thinking about my future. It had been ten years since I left the US. I was having a blast traveling, but I had no job security and saving any money very difficult working for low wages.
So I hatched a crazy plan to make US dollars while working in China. I wanted to start an internet based business so that I could work on my computer in China but earn US money. Even just $30 per day was basically a full time income in China.
It took me about six months of fumbling around: browsing around different sites, joining tons of mailing lists, watching hours of promotional videos, and following my share of purported “gurus” before I came across Wealthy Affiliate.
They were the legit online training center I was looking for. After three months of training I had made my first sale through my website. Six months after that I was generating regular sales. After a total of eighteen months working on my website I was earning over $10,000 per month so I quit my job in China and bought plane ticket back to the USA.
Thanks to my affiliate websites, by 2013 I owned my own home, a brand new truck, and a motorcycle! As of 2021, I'm married with a son, and still working from home “full time” (about 3 hours a day).

Personally, I'm kind of done with traveling for now and enjoy being a homebody. I like tinkering with my house and going on walks with my wife. It's a simple life. No Lamborghini's and no private islands, but I have a family and a couple hobbies, and I'm good with that.
One More Cup of Coffee is about helping you craft your own version of the perfect life. Where do you see yourself next year? What about 10 years down the road?
The cool thing about starting an affiliate blog is that you can take your business anywhere in the world and work at any hour of the day, any days of the week. You don't need any qualifications or prerequisites to learn. No degree required! You can learn everything online, and learn at your own pace.
Making money from your blog is pretty simple, but it takes a lot of work. Don't expect this to be a get-rich-quick thing. If you're ready to put in the hours consistently over the next year or two, I'm ready to share my knowledge with you and help you start earning money on the internet, through your own blog.
- You pick the topic
- You pick the products
- You write the content
- You reap the rewards

Hi Nathaniell
Love reading about yourself and your journey being an affiliate marketer. I’m a complete newbie on making money online thingy at the age of 56! I’m a Malaysian of chinese origin and reside in the beautiful Island of Penang.
Since the pandemic, my business had suffered greatly and I’m looking for an alternative way to make money… but I’m not exactly desperate or looking for any quick fix. Like you said, an affiliate blog takes time and effort to see any tangible result.
I’ve invested quite a lot on various affiliate online courses since I started my journey exactly a month ago. I’ve learned a lot from some but also felt being scammed by good sounding guru’s. I’ve paid almost $1000 to a particular one, still in the midst of his lessons, being bombarded with other products even though I thought those were included in his initial package. I felt cheated now. Been reading reviews about him.. and they are not good. I’ve decided to cut my loses and move on.
I have in fact started a website with Wix with my domain name and had post my first ‘review’ page on in but felt lost without any support. Quite frustrating and discouraging. There was one 1 view on my site since I posted 3 days back. Dang!
Anyway, Wealthy affiliate sounds legit and I like your honest and in depth review. Hope to join you someday. All the best!
Sincerely,
Mencius Koay

Your experience of paying tons of money, only be sold a bunch of other stuff along the way is common. That’s pretty much the scam with most “learn to get rich” programs. The goal is to drain you dry until you don’t buy anything else and go away. This is *literally* what some gurus brag about openly on Facebook.
Regarding using Wix, I’d advise against it. WordPress is superior for affiliate sites.

Hi, Your response validated what I already knew: blogging is not only competitive but can be an exercise in surviving predatory, unscrupulous individuals who would go through the pockets of a dead uncle looking for pocket change.
Enough said about. You have a lot of great info and I could really use some advice: how would you monetize a site that profiled the most innovative, under-the-radar doctors on the internet? I’m thinking first produce an impressive body of high-quality content and then try mining some affiliate sites. Since I’m a writer that has ghost written for journalists, done research for legislators and other professions, and written hundreds of articles the content part is not a problem. You’ve had a list of affiliate programs that dealt with health and wellness, could you revisit that niche and unearth some others that pass the smell test?
Thanks
Nathaniell
Sounds like you’re coming at this from a more complicated angle than is necessary. There’s no need to “smell test” anything, or “mine” affiliate sites. You pick a topic you like, and publish high quality information on the topic. You research questions people have, then answer those questions. That’s about it. If you get into health & wellness, I’d stay away from controversial topics like cures for illnesses, life threatening diseases, vaccines, etc. Weight loss, diet, mental health are probably OK.
As for affiliate programs, here’s how to find good affiliate programs, no matter the niche.

Hi, Nathaniell. I also hate getting up early in the morning. Your blogs are inspiring to me. Keep up the good works.
Kathy
Hi! Thank you for this content. I am 55 years old and a retired school teacher. I need to be making an income, but I do not want to do it by substituting! 😊
I do not have any business schooling, so that concerns me. I read just a couple of the comments-side hustling, sports book selling…..I had to quit reading because I was lost….
But, I am very interested in being able to generate an income from home ..or anywhere there’s internet. I like your style of writing- I’ve only read this article and some of your replies to posted questions…but you come across as very relatable and not condescending.
Do you teach enough through your training course so that at the end I will have determined my course and pretty built my website? I purchased a couple of ‘training manuals/programs when I was a lot younger. I never did anything with them because they basically said to spend a lot of money to get this, this, and this……more sort of like buying a lottery ticket and good luck.
I want to understand the why’s and the how’s of what I be devoting time and money to. I am willing to work hard at this, so I want to know I will have an excellent foundation of knowledge by taking your course.
Thanks so much!
Nathaniell
The course covers everything you need to know, and does not include a bunch of other fluff you need to pay for. $49 month + $15/year (domain) is what you need to build your business. There are other things you CAN buy, but are not required to actually build a successful site, and not sold by the training course (Themes, Plugins).
The only thing is that I sense some hesitancy on your part without a “guarantee” of income or success. It may be that you work for many months before seeing “results” you want. That’s just the nature of this business, especially since you’re learning everything from scratch, so you will be paying for training without necessarily making money in the beginning.
As part of the training, you will learn how to pick a topic and build a website. I hope that answers your questions Kathy!

I think I like this idea of blogs better than running a full website. I can share my thoughts the way I want and it’s no pressure to me or people that stop in to read because it’s just me being me. I’m interested in it because I would like to have an audience that enjoys me being myself unlike my family who couldn’t care less and just wants to kill me.
Nathaniell
These days, “blog” and “website” are very much interchangeable. A blog is a website, but a website doesn’t always have to have a blog.
