Luggage has changed a lot over the years to accommodate how people travel. Luggage companies now focus on making convenient, multipurpose travel solutions instead of bulky, cumbersome suitcases. Samsonite, the largest travel goods brand in the world, made $3.5 Billion in 2017. Which highlights the huge market potential for this travel niche.

Affiliate Website Ideas
Now that’s you’ve read about 10 great luggage affiliate programs, it’s time to decide on what niche you want to target. You could focus on affordable designer luggage. LuggageGuy.com helps their customers save up to 75% off of designer luggage. They offer a very generous 13% commission rate.
Another niche idea is luggage shipping services to help travelers save money on airline baggage fees. Luggage Forward is the most trusted luggage shipping service in the US. Affiliates receive an 8% commission rate on all sales. Worried about your luggage getting somewhere? Travel insurance is also a potential area of revenue for travelers of all types.
Luggage for backpacking is another great niche to think about. Many young travelers don’t want to look like a complete nerd rolling around a suitcase. Instead, they want the convenience and cool factor of having a big rucksack. REI has an affiliate program (not featured here), but there are many competitors you could potentially promote as well. This would have some crossover with camping affiliate programs.
PROTIP: Think outside of the box!
Here’s an awesome idea: Luggage Free. They pick up, ship, and deliver your luggage for you. This would be a very cool addition to any travel or luggage-related website. No one likes to travel with a ton of junk on their back!
Again, thinking outside of the box, don’t just look for “luggage companies”. Look for anyone that can provide awesome products for your website. Saddleback Leather has incredible, full-grain leather travel gear (among other things), and they also have an affiliate program. I just bought one of their travel bags, and it was $900. 4% isn’t a huge amount, even when you consider a $900 item (that’s $36), but it’s still a great option to add to your site.
I can envision keywords like “all leather luggage”, “luggage with no zippers” or “full grain leather travel bags”. Very cool stuff!
WARNING For Luggage Affiliates!
In a previous version of this article, I recommended Arlo Skye as a potential company to promote within the luggage industry. Unfortunately, they’ve sent a legal notice to me tell you that I shouldn’t tell you about their affiliate program! What?! Yeah, it doesn’t make sense to me either.
Either way, they’ve shown three important qualities that means I cannot, in good conscience, recommend you promote them!
- They are very litigious
- They do not fully understand how technology works (e.g. Google)
- Their affiliate program management is possibly dysfunctional
They sent me a 24-hour notice, with an impersonal, boiler-plate form letter warning me they will take legal action against me. I blurred out my contact info, but they also got my name wrong, showing a low-effort attempt to achieve their goal.
The thing I don’t understand is, I didn’t publish anything that’s not fully available on Google. See for yourself:
So they’re emailing me to take down information on my website that I found in Google? Are they going to sue Google too? Are they going to sue Shareasale for making their page available in the SERPs? Who knows what they are thinking. Actually, it doesn’t matter. Here’s my point:
As an affiliate marketer with 10 years experience, there have been two situations where a company I promoted pulled the rug from under me. In my opinion, this is an early warning sign that promoting Arlo Sky is a potential risk to your affiliate business. Their litigious nature and lack of polite communication are why I recommend you focus on other affiliate programs on this list.

I decided to get into the cabin luggage niche, and in doing research I found a couple of your posts. I know of you from WA, as I’ve been a member for 4 years.
My concern about this niche is how many large and well known sites are already writing about it, I don’t see how I could be found with such high competition.
Any comments would be helpful.
Thank you.
Nathaniell
Don’t stress about competition. There’s competition everywhere. That’s how business is! There would be no mom & pop coffee shops if everyone just gave up and let Starbucks take over the world 🙂
All of the big sites are targeting big keywords. You, as a small business owner, have much more flexibility (and better margins), so you can target lower competition, lower traffic phrases using keyword research. They won’t target these keywords because it’s not worth the time and money to pay their writers.
