Don’t Get Your Friends Into The Wake Up Now Scam!

February 19, 2019 by Nathaniell

Wake Up Now Scam

Wake Up Now has long since died out. Want to actually make money online and not have a company disappear? My top recommendation has been around for more than a decade.

What Is Wake Up Now?

Pay a monthly subscription fee to get discounts on various products/services. Sell subscriptions to your friends in an MLM/Pyramid scheme fashion. One guy gets rich by selling subscriptions, so everyone then goes subscriptions instead of actually using the discounts for anything.

Short Review

In case you didn’t know network marketing is very similar to a pyramid scheme. The products and services featured in Wake Up Now can be found at OTHER companies that provide better service, higher quality products, and are not associated with sketchy business “opportunities”.

Remember: It’s very likely that you’ll be scamming friends and family with this stuff, so think long and hard if you would let someone close to you join something like this.

Why You Shouldn’t Pay Money Into This Garbage

No doubt the person trying to get you in on this opportunity told you two basic things.

  1. You can make a bunch of money doing this

  2. Wake Up Now has a great line of products.

Let’s address these two points.

1. There is a very high probability that you will make almost nothing. In fact, less than 1% of people selling this product make more than $8 grand per year.

wake up now income disclosure
56 of people make $010 per year 4 make about 8 grand Less than 1 make any sort of real income

2) Anything you can buy through WUN can be bought somewhere else, for cheaper, or with more value.

Wake Up Now Products

Why on Earth would I have WUN be my travel agent when I could use Expedia or Priceline, two companies that do this professionally, and are multi-billion dollar companies with the infrastructure to provide better deals and better support?

Would you trust Norton, McAfee, or a sales pitch called “Wake Up Now” to protect your computer from viruses and identity theft? I think the choice is obvious.

And there’s really not reason at all why I would choose to order some expensive energy drinks from this company when I can buy a Monster at the gas station for $1.50, or a Red Bull, or a Rock Star, or Amp, or the million other types of drinks out there.

The only reason do to any of these things would be if you were paying a monthly subscription

wake up now cost structure

Is There Anything Positive To Say?

As much as I knock their product line, I think they do a lot better job than these other companies that restrict their products to “digital downloads”. This is NOT an endorsement of this company, I just try to find something positive in every product/system I review.

Let’s Dig Into This Hot Garbage

The number one issue with this type of company is that paying a subscription to save money is ridiculous. I do not see the value in spending an extra $100 per month so that I can save money on energy drinks and vacations.

People get involved in “biz ops” like this because they want to make money. They want to change their lives for the better, provide themselves with more income, or achieve financial independence.

But how can you do this when you are paying a monthly fee in order to save money on items that you normally wouldn’t buy?

This is not making money. It’s just consumerism

Another issue I have with this company and network marketing in general is that this will NOT be a strong foundation for your future. Most people spend a lot of time hopping from one company to the next, each time buying into the “revolutionary system”, the “game changing product”, and the chance to “get in on the ground floor” before things really get hot…

But I’ve heard these stories so many times, and just a few years later, no one is talking about them.

Because no one wants to buy this junk. In my opinion, getting ANYONE into something like this means you are scamming them. I would not advise anyone to join anything that I would not join myself.

THIS is what Wake Up Now wants you to think you will be

wake up now dream

But in reality, THIS is what you will be

hey mom opportunity

Most of your work will be cold calling friends and family, telling them how great these deals are, how fantastic the product line is, and how much money they can make. Does this sound like you dream job to you? Not me.

Hilarious Short Movie About Verve, Vemma, And Wake Up Now

Are all your friends spamming Instagram and Facebook telling you what a life-changing opportunity this is? Do they get mad when you ask too many questions or say you’re not interested? Network Marketers are no stranger to brainwashing. Watch the video below.

Thumbs Down

UPDATE

Trouble on the horizon: WUN leader steps down. The same thing happened to Empower Network when one of their CEOs “became ill” and took off. Sounds like Vemma is in trouble, getting sued for pyramid selling.

Still don’t believe me? Listen to the reputable radio cast from NPR. If you can’t dedicate an hour to listen to this, you probably shouldn’t be spending your money on this thing:

UPDATE

WUN has officially stopped network marketing operations, and top sellers are jumping ship. People are getting sued. All hell is breaking loose. #toldyouso

just in case people dont see brainwashed people like Roxys posts, ill post a reply i said to them here for more exposure:

Roxy if you actually went to college or took any business classes you’d see how foolish you sound.

“It’s not the opportunity to make money that’s for sale, it’s what they have to offer.” FALSE, it is 100% the opportunity to make money that is for sale.
ill try to lay it out easily for you, and other people who got brainwashed, so hopefully YOU wake up, like….now.

    – just to “make” money you need to recruit 3 people who each get 3 people.
    – every month you dont reach that goal you are losing 100+ dollars.
    – even if you sign up and accomplish that goal one day 1, you still dont make any money till next month, where you pay another 100 dollars.
    – you’ve now spent 200+ dollars to “make 600”. its only 400 net dollars. not too shabby youll say, but you dont just fall into 12 saps. it takes a lot of work, and its just the beginning.
    – its also 8 weeks bare minimum, aka 50 bucks a week BEST case scenario. you can mow lawns and make more money than that. you could probably sell lemonade and make more money.
    – even in the following months its 125 dollars a week, pre tax. not great when you think about it
    – to recap: thats 12 people, 13 including you, in your downstream before you get ANYTHING.
    – meanwhile you, and everyone in your “crew” is paying 100+ dollars a month.
    – so at minimum you and your stream are giving WUN 1300 dollars a month, and in return they give you 600.
    – so once you DO reach the first level, you’d realize you and you’re “crew” are just giving a company 800 dollars in profit (because remember, after paying your 100$ monthly fee youre really only getting 500 bucks. and thats pre tax.) without them selling a single product.
    – not to mention the value of all the advertising you give them over social media/word of mouth. even if you dont convert people it still gets their name out there, and virtually for free.
    – now think about all the additional money you, and your downstream, spend on their sub par crap (that you can find for free online anyways, ex. priceline, travelocity) and it gets even more ridiculous.

if only you listened to logic you would leave your cult. i hope a) this comment gets approved and b) you read it roxy (AND anyone else in the cult, OR anyone on the fence deciding if its legit or not – which its not).
if you’re an open minded person you will take it seriously, do some critical thinking, and WAKE UP NOW to get a real job. dont be a slave to a pyramid.

P.S. they make it sound so easy “oh just get 3 people who each get 3 people!!”. but getting 3 people who then get 3 people isnt: a) easy and b) nearly enough. you have to constantly “grind” for new leads just to break even since if at any point someone in your downstream quits you need to replace them to continue getting money.

tl;dr: no tl;dr, take 5 mins and read the dang thing. youll be thankful you didnt get duped by WUN. and it’ll help you spot other MLM/pyramid schemes like verve.

for people too lazy to read the webpages review: WUN is a scam. its a MLM/pyramid scheme. yes people make money, but those people arent you – its the founders and their cronies who are then ~1% making actual money. you think it’ll be quick and easy money from home, but you’re better off working a part/full time job virtually anywhere – even a place like mcdonalds, at least you get free meals there.

Be prepared for a backlash! WUNer’s are very defensive of their new way of life, as is common in cults and other mind control groups. I hope you are able to prevent your friends from spending too much money on this 🙂

So it is clearly a pyramid scheme with subpar products, I plan on joining still, not to promote the ridiculous unrealistic things that they promote. Btw I am a full time student, who just got out of the Air Force and my primary job is a Surgical Tech. So I make decent money right now. To be honest I think this company will eventually go under, but it is annoying to see completely uneducated idiot making money off this product, which compelled me to join (ironic lol). So basically you join and get three people under you, which pays for your 100 dollar monthly fee, then you get each of your three people to get three people and that’s a $600 earning. (Minus the 100 monthly fee, so $500 earning) If I can make an extra $500 dollars and get my friends/family making an extra $500 until the company goes under I am okay with that.

Ha! Well, I can’t blame you for being honest. It sounds like you know what you’re getting yourself into, so good luck 🙂

Haha thanks for the honesty, yea I do, I mean it’s free money in the meantime and I’m not going to completely mislead people under me; in going to be realistic with them, you can only really make so much money. But $500 extra in the meantime won’t hurt me lol.

except your friends and family will have a hard time making “free money”

say you get your significant other, mom and dad as your 3 people.
you’ll need to work pretty hard to get them to recruit 3 people unless you know a ton of gullible people and or they are tech/sales savvy.
get that done? boom 500 bucks (pre tax) for you.
but now you need to really help them each have their 3 people get 3 more people so your family can make that “free” ~500 bucks, or else you’ll just be profiting off their misery. and ideally the people your friends/family recruited will have to be motivated to at the very least stay in their low position on the pyramid, because im assuming you lose your money if people in your downstream quit.

starts off looking so easy. but if you actually care about the people in your downstream and not just making money it takes so much time, effort, and lack of morals (actively scamming people) to make less than 500 bucks a month, you’re better off just getting a part time job at mcdonalds or something and at least getting free meals or other perks out of it.

do people make money off this? yes. but its less than 1%, and they’re the inner circle who started it and their close friends. everyone else is in their downstream clawing for cash.

moral of the story: if something sounds too good to be true, it is. if you still wanna do this knowing exactly what it is, go for it. i just suggest you do NOT use your family and/or friends for your 3 people, big risk of fucking them over

I just went to a recruiting reunion last night, invited by a very good friend who is in desperate need of making money ( this is in Mexico, so excuse any english grammar mistakes). It just sounded too good to be truth and when I asked about all the benefits from the card they told me up front ” do not worry about that right now, just find the right people willing to find more people for your line .
Still, who doesn’t want to make some extra money ? So here I am doing my research to find the hidden truth about WUN and decide what to do.
    I will pass.

Good move Martha. Your story tells clearly exactly what these guys are up to. “don’t worry about the products, just get people into your downline”. There are plenty of legit ways to make extra money online, a few of them are discussed here on my site.
