Wake Up Now Scam

Wake Up Now has long since died out. Want to actually make money online and not have a company disappear? My top recommendation has been around for more than a decade.

What Is Wake Up Now?

Pay a monthly subscription fee to get discounts on various products/services. Sell subscriptions to your friends in an MLM/Pyramid scheme fashion. One guy gets rich by selling subscriptions, so everyone then goes subscriptions instead of actually using the discounts for anything.

Short Review

In case you didn’t know network marketing is very similar to a pyramid scheme. The products and services featured in Wake Up Now can be found at OTHER companies that provide better service, higher quality products, and are not associated with sketchy business “opportunities”.

Remember: It’s very likely that you’ll be scamming friends and family with this stuff, so think long and hard if you would let someone close to you join something like this.

Why You Shouldn’t Pay Money Into This Garbage

No doubt the person trying to get you in on this opportunity told you two basic things.

  1. You can make a bunch of money doing this

  2. Wake Up Now has a great line of products.

Let’s address these two points.

1. There is a very high probability that you will make almost nothing. In fact, less than 1% of people selling this product make more than $8 grand per year.

wake up now income disclosure
56 of people make $010 per year 4 make about 8 grand Less than 1 make any sort of real income

2) Anything you can buy through WUN can be bought somewhere else, for cheaper, or with more value.

Wake Up Now Products

Why on Earth would I have WUN be my travel agent when I could use Expedia or Priceline, two companies that do this professionally, and are multi-billion dollar companies with the infrastructure to provide better deals and better support?

Would you trust Norton, McAfee, or a sales pitch called “Wake Up Now” to protect your computer from viruses and identity theft? I think the choice is obvious.

And there’s really not reason at all why I would choose to order some expensive energy drinks from this company when I can buy a Monster at the gas station for $1.50, or a Red Bull, or a Rock Star, or Amp, or the million other types of drinks out there.

The only reason do to any of these things would be if you were paying a monthly subscription

wake up now cost structure

Is There Anything Positive To Say?

As much as I knock their product line, I think they do a lot better job than these other companies that restrict their products to “digital downloads”. This is NOT an endorsement of this company, I just try to find something positive in every product/system I review.

Let’s Dig Into This Hot Garbage

The number one issue with this type of company is that paying a subscription to save money is ridiculous. I do not see the value in spending an extra $100 per month so that I can save money on energy drinks and vacations.

People get involved in “biz ops” like this because they want to make money. They want to change their lives for the better, provide themselves with more income, or achieve financial independence.

But how can you do this when you are paying a monthly fee in order to save money on items that you normally wouldn’t buy?

This is not making money. It’s just consumerism

Another issue I have with this company and network marketing in general is that this will NOT be a strong foundation for your future. Most people spend a lot of time hopping from one company to the next, each time buying into the “revolutionary system”, the “game changing product”, and the chance to “get in on the ground floor” before things really get hot…

But I’ve heard these stories so many times, and just a few years later, no one is talking about them.

Because no one wants to buy this junk. In my opinion, getting ANYONE into something like this means you are scamming them. I would not advise anyone to join anything that I would not join myself.

THIS is what Wake Up Now wants you to think you will be

wake up now dream

But in reality, THIS is what you will be

hey mom opportunity

Most of your work will be cold calling friends and family, telling them how great these deals are, how fantastic the product line is, and how much money they can make. Does this sound like you dream job to you? Not me.

Hilarious Short Movie About Verve, Vemma, And Wake Up Now

Are all your friends spamming Instagram and Facebook telling you what a life-changing opportunity this is? Do they get mad when you ask too many questions or say you’re not interested? Network Marketers are no stranger to brainwashing. Watch the video below.

UPDATE

Trouble on the horizon: WUN leader steps down. The same thing happened to Empower Network when one of their CEOs “became ill” and took off. Sounds like Vemma is in trouble, getting sued for pyramid selling.

Still don’t believe me? Listen to the reputable radio cast from NPR. If you can’t dedicate an hour to listen to this, you probably shouldn’t be spending your money on this thing:

UPDATE

WUN has officially stopped network marketing operations, and top sellers are jumping ship. People are getting sued. All hell is breaking loose. #toldyouso

Thank you for posting this! I always see this scam on facebook and instagram and it’s annoying. No one ever explains the strategy either, it’s all “You can retire on this” or “I’m building my empire”. blah blah blah another pyramid scheme for people who don’t want to work.

Thank you! Another vote in my direction 🙂 Now, if I could just convince Roxy (commenter below) of the same!

It’s all about being open-minded, honestly. I used to think anything that offered money for advertising was a scam. But once I became a business student and thoroughly researched network marketing I learned that companies such as Wake Up Now are in fact NOT pyramid schemes. Wake Up Now is a direct selling company (the marketing and selling of products directly to consumers away from a fixed retail location). A few other direct selling companies include Pampered Chef, Herbalife, Mary Kay, Primerica, and one of the very first direct selling companies, AVON. I don’t see anyone calling AVON a pyramid scheme even though there are some lotions and cosmetics that are cheaper and better. Some people just have a preference. Some people can benefit from it more than others. Wake Up Now, just like AVON, offers various products and services to financially help you by saving and managing money. People can make money when they tell others about the company as well. However, they are not told to sell the opportunity to make money. They are told to market the products and services. Please keep in mind, PEOPLE JOIN PEOPLE, NOT COMPANIES. Wake Up Now offers the same products and services to everyone. It’s the people who sell those products and services that give people the outlook they have on the company. I joined Wake Up Now through a friend of mine and I can honestly say that it is beneficial in every way, shape and form for me personally. I’m a mother with a family so the $400 in monthly savings helps me more than any other method of saving money I’ve tried. The Vacation Club gives me the opportunity to take my family on the trips they deserve to go on. Now I can show my baby girl the world! WUN Protect actually does work! I had Norton and McAfee before WUN Protect and I still had viruses when I had them but with WUN Protect I haven’t had one. Taxbot gives me more money back in my tax return and teaches me how to become a real business owner. Finance helps you get out of debt two times faster and helps you manage you money on a month to month basis. I paid off $1200 worth of debt in one month. And although I can spend find some things cheaper other places, none of those places give me cash back so I’m actually paying less when I do buy certain things. The moral of the story is, you can’t knock something until you try it with a positive and open mind. If you try it out with the intention that it’s a waste of time and money that’s exactly what it will be to you. But if you go into it open minded with he intent to really give it a try you’ll see it for what it’s worth and you can decide if it’s for you or not. We all have different living situations. I’m a single mother and full time student. What’s affordable to you may not be affordable for me. What might be beneficial to my financial situation might not do a thing for yours. So that’s why its important to sell the product. The money you make should just be thought of as a bonus – in fact, that’s exactly what it is. Some people just do business the wrong way. A pyramid scheme is an unsustainable business model that involves promising participants payment or services, primarily for enrolling other people into the scheme, rather than supplying any real investment or sale of products or services to the public. As I said before, Wake Up Now is beneficial for me. Because the people I refer as well as myself are benefiting from the products and services we are able to be successful because we’re doing just that. You don’t have to sell the product to receive the product. That’s given to you regardless. Think of Sam’s Club, BJ’s,Costco or any other wholesale membership store for example. You have to pay a monthly or annual fee to become a member so you can shop there to receive their products/services. Sometimes, you can get the same items and the same quantity cheaper elsewhere. But there are other things that you can still benefit from there so you keep your membership. It’s as simple as that!

Here’s a video I made explaining Wake Up Now, their products, their prices and their compensation plan [Removed, nice try]. Maybe you could get a better idea of exactly what they provide to the public and some of the benefits. Wake Up Now showed me different aspects of business and their compensation plan indeed can be beneficial if you do things the right way. My name is Roxy. I’m 20 years old, a single mother, and a full-time student. I am an Independent Business Owner with Wake Up Now, a hairstylist and a virgin hair distributor. I am also self employed. Wake Up Now has helped me meet different people from different cities, states and countries. I’ve had the opportunity to establish business connects and reach financial freedom as well. I never thought I’d have an opportunity this great at 20 years old as a single mother. But as long as you keep a positive mind and stay open to try new things you’ll make it as far as you want to. Wake Up Now has truly blessed me and given me more than $100 could ever buy me.

You obviously did not read the review. People in WUN profit by marketing the opportunity, not the products, because the products are crap. Why do you think you just spend 20 minutes typing a comment trying to get people to your YouTube video and convince people to join? If WUN’s products were that great, they would speak for themselves, and would not need an army of Instagram spammers trying to recruit.

Your “review” sounds like it was taken directly off of the WUN sales page.

I would not trust my computer to WUN antivirus and I sure as hell would not trust them to do my taxes.

Why is it that you approved my last comment but not the reply to this?

      April 23, 2014 at 6:52 pm

Because I deal with comments like this all day long, and don’t have time to get into another internet argument today. You said your piece, I replied and approved your comment. I don’t want 2000 words of WUN promotion misleading my readers into thinking that you are actually making money doing this. If you really are that successful with this company, you should be working on your business instead of trolling mine trying to prove me wrong.

Nathaniel your answers to her comments sound very ignorant and defensive. I read your article and you are using your opinion for one company to promote your One More Cup of Coffee business. If this review was truly meant to “expose” Wake Up Now then there is no need to promote yours in the end. Try joining the company, see what it really feels like and then come back and write a review. REAL journalists get in other people’s shoes to write their REAL articles.

I’m not a journalist. I’m a blogger that helps people start websites and make money from them. It’s my personal opinion that WUN is a waste of money and creates cultish zombies like yourself that troll websites crying because I don’t like their company.

lol i actually doubled up laughing when you said their anti virus was good. first of all, youre so computer illiterate i bet you have even more adware, malware, and viruses than ever, they just hide it from you. if you were smart you would just use a free version of AVG, never use internet explorer (use firefox, chrome, opra, etc), and use adblock. those 3 simple things with half a brain for a bit of internet discretion (ie. not clicking on obviously bad links/downloads) and you wont get any viruses.

as for the rest of your post its pure crap. used car salesmen are better and less annoying, keep working on it and you might join the 1%er’s though i highly doubt it.

Haha. I like that “sleep now, then wake up and work”. You should send this review to your friends and try to break the spell. Or you can just let it pass. These popular schemes come around every once in a while, then they fade out as everyone becomes bored paying money into the system and getting nothing out. You can only recruit so many of your friends before the pyramid bottom can’t grow anymore.

      Thanks for the comment Kat.

I am in the Military and I know many people who are promoting this company like crazy. I agree that it is a pyramid scheme. I know people who promote and promote it all over their Facebook and it sounds really pathetic and desperate to me. If you have to continually convince people that this company will make them more money its probably a scam. Funny thing is they don’t explain that once you join you have to recruit your three people to start getting paid. Its time consuming and success rate is not that great.

I didn’t know that you had to recruit three people to even start making money…now that’s a pyramid scheme if I ever saw one. It’s so sad to see people promote this junk to people the love and care about.

I’m in wake up now and it was easier then it seems . I mean I’m making money plus connecting with ppl across the world . It’s promotion just like you did for the company you work for . It’s marketing everywhere . Just like when you say ” I love Starbucks ” without getting paid . I just so happen to benefit from WakeUpNow .

The difference between what I do and what you do is that I don’t have to pay people to recommend their products. I would take a good hard look at the crowd mentality and cult-culture that places like Wake Up Now breed, and think twice before getting your friends into it.
