Don’t Get Your Friends Into The Wake Up Now Scam!

February 19, 2019 by Nathaniell

Wake Up Now Scam

Wake Up Now has long since died out. Want to actually make money online and not have a company disappear? My top recommendation has been around for more than a decade.

What Is Wake Up Now?

Pay a monthly subscription fee to get discounts on various products/services. Sell subscriptions to your friends in an MLM/Pyramid scheme fashion. One guy gets rich by selling subscriptions, so everyone then goes subscriptions instead of actually using the discounts for anything.

Short Review

In case you didn’t know network marketing is very similar to a pyramid scheme. The products and services featured in Wake Up Now can be found at OTHER companies that provide better service, higher quality products, and are not associated with sketchy business “opportunities”.

Remember: It’s very likely that you’ll be scamming friends and family with this stuff, so think long and hard if you would let someone close to you join something like this.

Why You Shouldn’t Pay Money Into This Garbage

No doubt the person trying to get you in on this opportunity told you two basic things.

  1. You can make a bunch of money doing this

  2. Wake Up Now has a great line of products.

Let’s address these two points.

1. There is a very high probability that you will make almost nothing. In fact, less than 1% of people selling this product make more than $8 grand per year.

wake up now income disclosure
56 of people make $010 per year 4 make about 8 grand Less than 1 make any sort of real income

2) Anything you can buy through WUN can be bought somewhere else, for cheaper, or with more value.

Wake Up Now Products

Why on Earth would I have WUN be my travel agent when I could use Expedia or Priceline, two companies that do this professionally, and are multi-billion dollar companies with the infrastructure to provide better deals and better support?

Would you trust Norton, McAfee, or a sales pitch called “Wake Up Now” to protect your computer from viruses and identity theft? I think the choice is obvious.

And there’s really not reason at all why I would choose to order some expensive energy drinks from this company when I can buy a Monster at the gas station for $1.50, or a Red Bull, or a Rock Star, or Amp, or the million other types of drinks out there.

The only reason do to any of these things would be if you were paying a monthly subscription

wake up now cost structure

Is There Anything Positive To Say?

As much as I knock their product line, I think they do a lot better job than these other companies that restrict their products to “digital downloads”. This is NOT an endorsement of this company, I just try to find something positive in every product/system I review.

Let’s Dig Into This Hot Garbage

The number one issue with this type of company is that paying a subscription to save money is ridiculous. I do not see the value in spending an extra $100 per month so that I can save money on energy drinks and vacations.

People get involved in “biz ops” like this because they want to make money. They want to change their lives for the better, provide themselves with more income, or achieve financial independence.

But how can you do this when you are paying a monthly fee in order to save money on items that you normally wouldn’t buy?

This is not making money. It’s just consumerism

Another issue I have with this company and network marketing in general is that this will NOT be a strong foundation for your future. Most people spend a lot of time hopping from one company to the next, each time buying into the “revolutionary system”, the “game changing product”, and the chance to “get in on the ground floor” before things really get hot…

But I’ve heard these stories so many times, and just a few years later, no one is talking about them.

Because no one wants to buy this junk. In my opinion, getting ANYONE into something like this means you are scamming them. I would not advise anyone to join anything that I would not join myself.

THIS is what Wake Up Now wants you to think you will be

wake up now dream

But in reality, THIS is what you will be

hey mom opportunity

Most of your work will be cold calling friends and family, telling them how great these deals are, how fantastic the product line is, and how much money they can make. Does this sound like you dream job to you? Not me.

Hilarious Short Movie About Verve, Vemma, And Wake Up Now

Are all your friends spamming Instagram and Facebook telling you what a life-changing opportunity this is? Do they get mad when you ask too many questions or say you’re not interested? Network Marketers are no stranger to brainwashing. Watch the video below.

Thumbs Down

UPDATE

Trouble on the horizon: WUN leader steps down. The same thing happened to Empower Network when one of their CEOs “became ill” and took off. Sounds like Vemma is in trouble, getting sued for pyramid selling.

Still don’t believe me? Listen to the reputable radio cast from NPR. If you can’t dedicate an hour to listen to this, you probably shouldn’t be spending your money on this thing:

UPDATE

WUN has officially stopped network marketing operations, and top sellers are jumping ship. People are getting sued. All hell is breaking loose. #toldyouso

As someone that knows a little about this stuff let me give you this info for free. You should know this all already….MLM is NOT for everyone. I don’t do MLM anymore but had some success in it. The problem is people sign people up left and right to make their money, but the people they sign up (and a fair chance themselves too) are not going to be successful at it. It’s not cut out for everyone. I’d say about 4% of people that do it make any real amount of money. Avoid MLM altogether unless you have a HUGE (and I mean huge) network of people you actually interact with on a daily basis and there is a legitimate product. Vemma has amazing products but the business model is terrible. Wake up now has no actual product, only discounts on things. Find the right fit if you dare to get into MLM.

My question to you is – if YOU had success, what happens to your downline? My issue with MLM is not that you can’t make money doing it. I know that it makes people millionaires. My issue is that most MLMs are completely dishonest, and the only people making real money are the ones that are recruiting and get their recruits to recruit. If you count people just making retail sales, I think most people fail hard.

BTW, on an additional note, WakeUpNow has officially stopped their US operations. For anyone reading, please look at the original date of my post here, and maybe now you’ll see that I’m not BSing people here on my blog.

Had an old HS friend I hadn’t seen in at least 5 years call me outta the blue a few years ago and ask to meet up for a drink. After no more than 15 minutes of actual conversation, it turned into a sales pitch for MonaVie and the world infamous acai berry. I sternly declined the offer, and we didn’t speak again for another few years until he had the nerve to call me again about an offer with ANOTHER company. Obviously MonaVie didn’t earn him the early retirement in Tahiti he was promised. I loved when I declined again, he just started to rattle off names of fellow graduates and asked if I had any of their phone numbers.

My favorite experience was when an OLDER SISTER of a girl I graduated with, not friends with, just graduated with, called me. How many degrees of people she had to go through to get my number I can’t imagine. Mind you I also had NEVER MET the older sister before. The best was her opening statement after the awkward pleasantries one would expect to begin a phone conversation with someone you’d never met. It was something along the lines of, “My sister and I were just talking about driven, intelligent people and your name came up.” I’m not sure I need to say any more.

Haha. Awesome story Eddie. Similar thing happened to me, although I wasn’t contacted.

I was Facebook snooping some old high school people and one girl kept popping up talking about her new business and how she was helping families get financially secure etc etc. But it was very odd that whenever someone would ask where she worked or what she did, she’d say “send me a private message”. Did some digging and found her LinkedIn Profile. It was also MLM, and she was deep in, going to conferences etc.

So basically she was selling MLM on Facebook and preaching like she was saving destitute families. Nuts.

I can say I agree totally what you said. I am so happy you pit this post out there. I was in wun since Dec and have only reached director 3. I was tired of my sponsor bugging me and pressuring me to follow up with people and trying to sign them up then having to bother my friends and family. Did I actually see myself paying $100/ Mo just to save money where I can go right somewhere else? How about paying an extra $90 for vacation club? When I heard about that I thought it was included! I haven’t made but $100 back enough to pay for my membership. I left because others were leaving for the same reason they left: not enough money to keep up with every month + finding people to join. I found something even better not dealing with mlm or recruiting and making people switch stores or pay monthly subscription to buy products. I literally just wasted my hard earned time and money!!! You don’t have to recruit to make money.

The buzz around WUN has died out, and people are starting to leave. It’s the same story every time. There will no doubt be a new one pop up soon enough. Be on the watch out for the next “incredible opportunity never been done before”!

Hi, I was actually just wondering if you’ve ever reviewed [removed]? I’m curious as to your opinion. I find them to be extremely reputable with an amazing product that people actually want and use, with phenomenal documented results. Let me know.

I haven’t reviewed them, but I’ll add them to the list. I had to remove your product mention because the link and endorsement was bordering on promotional. Thanks for hte comment though!

Still Confused About Money??? WUN is a way to share an opportunity to save and manage money and live a better life, bottom line. I saved $30 copay going to a doctor to get a prescription for antibiotics for bronchitis by using WUN MDs Teledoc service. I get a free tea every day stopping by the Cefco, and a free hamburger at Sonic for my buddy buy one get one free, just one of the hundreds of coupons provided to save money. Wunfinance helps me manage my accounts so I stay on budget. Taxbot calculates all my mileage and expenses from the app on my phone, so I can turn it in and get money back on my tax returns. I’m using wun speak language software to learn Spanish so I can keep up with the growing community of Spanish speakers. I get all this free because I have 3 people under me doing the same. So what’s Scam about this. What’s scam about using these services for free? I’m not in the 600 club yet, but I feel I will get there with this company faster than any other company, and if not well, I will just enjoy using these services at no cost to me, but sharing it with others and they do the same. So what’s scam about it? Oh and Thunder is an awesome energy drink. Coming from someone who was a Red Bull fanatic. Thunder is all natural with only 10 calories, no sugar made with Green Tea, Acai Berry and Pomegranate juices, not one person that I’ve shared them with has said they were not any good.

Redbull: 5/5 stars (Amazon), $37 for 24 pack. Contains caffeine, taurine, b vitamins, sucrose + glucose, water
Thunder: 3/5 stars, $48 for 24 pack. Contains sodium citrate, malic acid, natural and artificial flavor, potassium sorbate (preservative), sodium benzoate (preservative), sucralose, acesulfame potassium, FD&C Red #40

Your car cannot be used as a tax writeoff unless it’s used exclusively as a work vehicle.

Cefco gives free tea to everyone

Rosetta Stone is better and cheaper…or maybe you might want a free language learning app.

      Check your facts brah.
