What Is It?

Do various micro-tasks to money and prizes.

Short Review

Yes, this is a legitimate company that pays, but no it’s not worth your time. If you are serious about making money online, these types of survey or trial offer sites are not worth the time you put into them.

Are You Ready To Work Your Ass Off to Earn Your Lifestyle?

Are you tired of the daily grind? With a laptop and an internet connection I built a small website to generate income, and my life completely changed. Let me show you exactly how I’ve been doing it for more than 13 years.

Before You Start

You may have seen other reviews that say how much money they made so far using Cash Crate, and how it’s a legit way to make money on the internet. Yes, this is a real company that actually pays, and though there are people that call it a “scam”, most of these people are complainers that broke rules they were unaware of.

However, the first red flag you should notice is the $500 unemployment check that’s flashed at you as soon as you sign up.

unemployment check

This means two things. One, they are targeting people in desperate situations, which is unfair in my opinion. People on unemployment will absolutely NOT make enough money to pay the bills or put food on the table using Cash Crate or other similar sites.

The other thing is that you need to start seeing the total BS that this site will put you through in order to actually earn money. After clicking for about 15 minutes, I was no closer to getting any kind of check, but I had successfully given my contact information to about 3 different companies.

No doubt these companies will contact me with other offers. And so the “offer tsunami” begins.

What I Didn’t Like

Earning Cash VS Earning Prizes

You are going to have to pay attention to find out what you are actually spending your time to get. Many of the tasks you need to will only reward you with gift cards, or even worse, entries to sweepstakes.

CC does a good job of separating these from the cash offers, but beware. Many times, even those that say they pay in money, have money as just one option and they usually pay disproportionately less than if you were to exchange your points for a gift card.

How Much Is Your time Worth?

Lots of these jobs only offer to pay less than $1, and very rarely is it more than $3. This means you’ll have to complete 6-10 tasks per hour just to make minimum wage (in some states, not others). This seems doable, until you realize that some offers do not actually register to your account after you complete them.

No fair? Cash Crate says they’re not responsible for this because it’s a problem with your browser. Bummer dude! Did you computer crash or you lost your place? Start over. Now you’re working for $3 per hour.

Why I Hate Trial Offers

Of course the things that pay the most are the trial offers. We’ve seen this advertised in scams like Instant Payday Network and Project Payday. These offer signups pay the most because in order to have them go through ,you must hand over your credit card information!

Some are free trials that start billing in 7-30 days. Some are discount trials that pay more than the discount is worth. A good example is the one I found that pays $18, but requires you to pay $9 to sign up for something.

This may sound appealing to you; after all, if you can complete enough of these you can make a few bucks more than the surveys. BUT, things get complicated when you get serious about making money this way.

You will have to track all of the things you sign up for, what date you started, when you trial ends, and all contact information to cancel when the time comes. Many places require you stay signed up for a specific period of time (like 30% of the trial offer period), further complicating things.

All it takes is one slip up of a $50 rebill and you could set yourself back to $0 earned, or even losing money on the deal!

Say No To Surveys

I’ve reviewed many survey sites here on One More Cup of Coffee. None of them have impressed me. You spend hours on end answering dumb questions, and like the examples above, sometimes there are form errors or other problems that occur that mean you waste time and earn nothing.

All the talk about companies wanting your opinion is just hype to get you to sign up. Sites like Cash Crate make a ton of money off of people like you that are willing to sell their time for pennies.

One Good Thing

One interesting thing that I did appreciate about CC was the Payment Wall. This is a picture gallery of people showing off how much money they made. The amounts were small ($20-$50), but nonetheless, it showed that there’s a bit of a community spirit here.

cash crate payment wall

One interesting thing is that only about 1-3 people posting per day. I would think of the thousands that are using this service, that more people would be excited to show off their payments. It makes you wonder how many people are actually getting paid. Still, there is a forum with people asking and answering questions, so if you absolutely have your heart set on making money in this way, CC is a good site to do it at.

Final Review

Cash Crate is the one that profits most from your time spent on the site. There’s no reason you should be selling your time at such a cheap rate. An extra $20-$50 per month will not make much of a difference in most peoples lives these days.

At the very least, your time would be better spent learning a new skill, getting an education, or improving your knowledge of your current job to work your way up the ranks.

The only reason I don’t post my check to the Payment Wall is because I’m lazy. I don’t feel like taking the time to take the picture, make sure my info is crossed out, and email it to them.

I have an account with cash crate but at first I quit because every servey I filled out soon later after finishing the survey they tell me that I wasn’t qualified. Lately however, I be been filling out surveys that were sent to my email and everything is going fine. But still I have my own blog and I’m working on my novel.

I actually signed up for Cash Crate. It exists for more than 7 years. But in Slovakia they offered so little amount of surveys etc that I made only about 0.5 USD in the first day and 0.75 USD in the first week so I lost interest in it. I now forgot the username/password and thus waived all that change. And yes, you are right about the unfairness. Actually, I would consider the $500 check flashed on you to be false advertising.

A dollar per week is definitely selling yourself short Josef. With your experience in all these survey/game sites, you could have a really successful website telling people all your crazy stories about ways you have tried to make money online. Glad to hear you agree with me on this one.

Thank you for encouragement. Unfortunately without proper training there is no way to have a successful website even if I would have tons of stories to tell on it. And I could not get a proper training until now. However now the problems of real life are getting into the way so it will take some time until I get to the point of having a successful website.
