All this stuff I'm about to show you started as a hobby, but once I started earning serious money, I decided to quit my job and move back to the USA.

You might be surprised to know that I didn't go to college for computer science, web design, or marketing. In fact, I didn't go to college at all.

I just wanted to start an internet-based business to supplement my income. I had no idea that things would work out so well!

Doing what I did took a lot of hard work! I'm not gonna lie. But it was worth it.

As a total newbie, I had no idea what to sell, or how to start, and got very frustrated.

But I pushed through, got the work done, and within 18 months my online income jumped to over $10,000 per month. Since then, I've been earning consistent money with my websites for almost ten years now!

How did it all happen?

My first successful website was in the computer software niche. I was a one-man show, promoting VPN subscriptions online with my VPN review website. I didn't invent anything, and I didn't have any special or new idea either.

In other words, if this is your first time starting a business, don't stress. You can do this. The model is pretty simple.

The most common question I get is, “How much money can you make online?”

The answer is – as much as you want. It's just like any other regular business!

If you asked “how much money does a restaurant make?” or “how much money does an app make?”, the answer would be the same. It depends on many factors.

A mom-and-pop café will make less money than a fancy steakhouse, but a chain of fast food joints will earn more than either of those!

Likewise, with affiliate marketing, a hard worker will earn more than a slacker. Someone that dedicates five hours per day to building their business will earn more than someone who dedicates only one hour.

That being said, I want to give you an idea of what I earn, so you can see what's possible. I don't like to “show off”, but here's income proof.

These screenshots prove that yes, I actually make money online. I've been making over $10,000 per month for many years now. You'll have to make your first dollar before you earn ten thousand though.

Directly after these income screenshots, I'll explain how affiliate marketing works, then show you some example websites I own.

These were my first affiliate commissions. See how I started by earning just $23, and within one year I was earning over $5,000 per month from this one affiliate account?

These amazon earnings are more recent. In 2017 I earned over $9,000 from a “side project”.

When you get really good at what you do, you can start to earn huge commissions. Check out this $30k payday I had recently. That's just ONE MONTH.

It's pretty easy to fake screenshots though, so those pictures don't really matter that much. There are two main things to take away from these examples though:

1. Affiliate marketing works
2. You can make a lot of money in this business

Plus, part of the power of this type of business is that you can diversify your income so that you are never reliant on just one source from one company. This makes your online business even stronger and more stable than a traditional job.

Anyone can repeat what I've done. It doesn't matter what race, age, religion, or gender you are. You don't even have to be that smart (I'm a perfect example LOL)!

The process of how I actually make money is pretty simple (don't worry, the hard part comes later).

I make small websites about very specific topics people search for online. When someone types something into Google, they can find my website and read my articles.

Sometimes my articles link to product recommendations. If someone clicks my link and buys something, I make some money.

It's as simple as that.

In fact, you have probably already helped many affiliates get paid already! If you've ever done a search for a product review or a “best of” list, then you visited an affiliate website and someone earned a commission from your clicks 🙂

It's a four-step process to earn money with affiliate marketing:

• Step 1: Make a website about something you like
• Step 2: Write articles about your topic
• Step 3: Link to products from companies like Amazon, Home Depot, or Blue Apron
• Step 4: Earn money from sales

Millions of people are searching the internet for information right now. Where do you think all these information websites come from?

People just like you! They are building websites, writing articles, and earning income from it.

Some of them are making a lot of money (more than $100,000 per month).

It's time to get your piece of the pie!

There are different ways to earn money from a website but making affiliate sales is the the method I use. It's what I like to teach people because I can just show them the same process I did.

Affiliate Marketing is my favorite way to earn money on the internet for a few very clear reasons.

1. I don't have to purchase any inventory
2. I don't have to ship products
3. I don't have to deal with customer service
4. I get to write about the topics I think are interesting
5. I get to write my opinion on my own domain
6. Recurring sales and digital products can create passive income

Here's an example of a website I made that earns money:

One of my hobbies is brewing beer at home. I'm not an expert brewer, but I love making beer (and drinking it!) So last year I started a website about it.

Homebrewing is my passion. What's yours?

On this website I talk about a lot of different things related to homebrewing. I teach people how to pick the right equipment, how to put together a recipe, and how to fix mistakes in the brewing process.

I share my personal recipes, results from homebrew competitions, and other stories related to making beer.

In the example above, I link to a company which sells a membership called the “Rare Beer Club”. The membership costs about $50 per month, and I make $12 commission for each membership I sell.

Here's another example called MotionSensorSprinkler.com. Last year I had feral cats messing up my lawn and I got so mad I made a website about it.

In this website, I talk about different methods of keeping unwanted critters out of your yard, including bugs, cats, raccoons, and deer. Anyone who ever had a deer eat their rose bushes knows how frustrating it can be!

If you had some gophers digging up your beautiful vegetable garden, what's the first thing you would do? You would go to Google, and search “how to stop gophers from digging up my vegetable garden”.

Websites just like mine rank, give advice, and recommend products. This sprinkler website earned almost $500 in February!

Crazy examples right? I'll be you didn't know that beer and sprinklers can earn money online. So I can guarantee that any topic you think of will earn you money online too.

There are thousands of websites like this on the internet about every topic you can think of, and many of them are generating income for their owners. You can create a website like this about ANY topic you want. Here are just a few ideas.

The main method I used to promote affiliate links and earn money online is by writing articles for my website. It's my favorite method to teach newbies because you can do all the work yourself.

That means it's super cheap to run this kind of business. It's not like other business models that require product inventory, staff, or rent.

As long as you have a computer, you can make money with this method.

If you can write, you can rank. If you can rank, you can earn cash money baby!

Writing an article that ranks in Google does take practice though. You won't be a professional online marketer by this time tomorrow, or even next week.

But with practice, you'll learn how everything works and will be able to write/rank an article without much trouble.

Website Ideas & Affiliate Products Brainstorm

Unlike many “guru” programs out there, I'm telling you that there's really no special secret to affiliate marketing. In fact, I'll show you exactly how it works right now.

Remember four steps from above? No? That's OK, let's revise:

• Step 1: Make a website about something you like
• Step 2: Write articles about your topic
• Step 3: Link to products from companies like Amazon, Home Depot, or Blue Apron
• Step 4: Earn money from sales

Let's say I want to make a website about home roasting coffee. Step one completed!

The main “work” of building the website will be researching topics and writing articles (Step 2), so I'd better pick something I really want to learn about.

Step two is to write an article on my topic. Knowing what to write about does require some training. Let's look at some quick examples, but you can get more details when you start your official lessons.

Let's continue with the coffee roasting example. Check out this screenshot below to see what I discovered in just two minutes of research:

Topics I found to write about include:

• unroasted coffee beans
• home roasting coffee machines
• green coffee beans for home roasting
• home roasting coffee methods
• home roast coffee in a popcorn popper

Writing about these topics is an opportunity to help someone. I can teach people how to roast green coffee beans at home.

When someone types “home roasting coffee machines”, or “can you roast coffee in a popcorn machine”, my website could turn up!

If you are not a good writer, don't stress. There are plenty of easy article formats to follow like “Top 10 Lists” or “Best of 2019” that don't require a lot of creativity to get ranked in Google.

After you write and publish your article, what's next?

Step 3 in this process is to link to products!

With about 10 minutes of research I found a couple companies that pay between 4% and 15% to promote their coffee products! 

Home coffee roasters on Amazon sell for $300+ and will make me 4.5% commission.

What's crazy is that some companies, (e.g. computer software) pay 75%! 

In this example, one potential way to make money with my affiliate links is to promote green coffee beans in my article about how to roast green coffee. This is not an item many people find in their local grocery store, so there's a good chance they'll order online.

I can also publish an article comparing the Top 3 coffee roasting machines, and earn commissions from those affiliate links too. It's OK to link to competing brands on the same page, so I'd get paid no matter which roaster someone bought.

Affiliate links on your website track click and sales, so you get credit for every item bought!

Plus, check this out. If you didn't believe me that affiliate marketing really works, check out this Forbes article I found about espresso machines. See that Amazon link? Looks like Forbes is doing affiliate marketing too! (Any link that says amazon.to/#### is an affiliate link!)

What If I Don't Have Any Good Website Ideas?

There endless topics that could generate affiliate income online. You can write about or promote whatever you want! However, the incredible amount of possibilities can be overwhelming, and that leaves a lot of people saying that they don't have any good ideas.

There are literally hundreds of comments below saying “I don't know which topic to pick”, or “I don't have any hobbies so what should I do?”. (Get help picking your topic here)

The truth is, ANY website can work. People search for everything online. That being said, the most popular topics, which will always have tons of traffic and money-making options are Health, Wealth, & Love. 

Here are some basic ideas to get your creative juices flowing.

Health:

• weight loss
• muscle gain
• natural healing

Wealth:

• retire early
• start a business
• get out of debt

Love

• get a date
• get your ex back
• wedding planning

These are pretty broad topics, and could be broken down even further! Here's an example:

Weight Loss

• weight loss for women over 50
• weight loss for teens
• weight loss for diabetics
• weight loss for body builders
• ketogenic weight loss
• paleo diet weight loss
• weight loss recipes

…and the list goes on! The main thing to keep in mind is that your first website doesn't have to be perfect. It doesn't have to be a home run with your first try. I started three or four failed websites before I really got into the groove and picked a topic that worked for me.

My very first websites was about horse care, and it didn't last long. My first successful website was about computer software!

If this is your first website, don't put so much pressure on yourself. Just use the first idea that pops into your head, and you can always start a new site later after your mind has some time to chew on the concepts I'm talking about.

Can You Teach Me How To Earn Money With My Website? I'm a Newbie!

Absolutely, YES.

Remember, I started out just like you. I was a total newbie! I also had a terrible internet connection and a broken laptop. I didn't even have a desk to work on while I was living in China.

I'm living proof that even total newbies can make money online.

Of course, success won't come overnight, but if you are willing to follow the same steps I took, and dedicate at least a couple hours per week to building your business, then you will see results.

When I was in China and looking for ways to make money online, I didn't just start a website and become an instant success.
