What's up everyone, my name's Nathaniell, and I'm the guy who started One More Cup of Coffee. I teach people how to make money from blogging. I've been doing this successfully for more than 10 years now, and honestly, it's a lot easier than you think. I can definitely show you how to do what I do, and how to design a pretty awesome lifestyle for yourself.

For me, being in this business isn't about getting rich. It's about having time to do the stuff I really want to do, like fix up my house, make beer on the weekends, and spend time with my family. In fact, the name One More Cup of Coffee came from the days when I worked a real job and hated having to rush out the door every morning.

All I wanted is a little bit of extra time in the morning for a second cup of coffee.

Well, that dream came true, and I can show you exactly how I did it and how you can repeat the same process for yourself.

I wasn't always an internet marketer; in fact, I've done quite a few different jobs over the years.

Internet marketing was just the career path that ‘clicked' for me, mostly because I could do it from the comfort of my own home and according to my own schedule.

But let's start a bit further back; if you're going to get to know me, you should know a bit about where I'm from and what I've done.

People always ask me…

They say, “Well, you got started in 2010. Did I miss the gravy train? I'm sure there's too much competition now, so I'd never stand a chance!”

But the funny thing is that it's easier than ever to make money online. Why? There's two simple reasons:

  1. More products are being sold online now. People are shifting more and more of their shopping habits to the online world and that just wasn't the case even 5-10 years ago. Even small businesses and grocery stores are selling their products on the internet!
  2. There are more tools to make starting your business easier. Before, you had to code everything in HTML and be internet savvy. Now, there's tools to automate everything. Thousands of people have made the journey before, and you can use their wisdom to make your path easier.

It's kind of like traveling. In the past, you had to take a ship and spend weeks on the ocean to reach far-off places. Once there, you had to make your own adventure!

Now, You can reach any destination in the world within 24 hours. There's a guidebook for every country in every language, and there are smartphone apps for instant translation to your native language.

Nowadays, it's easier than ever to get started making money online because there are so many more resources available to you, and you can just “follow the guidebook” to get where you need to go (owning a money-generating website).

So, back to the story of how I got started…

I grew up in California, but left soon after graduating high school to travel in Europe. I was completely bored in the US and wanted to see the world. At the time, I had a friend living in Prague, so used her house as my “home base” between trips. When I needed money, I freelanced as an English teacher.

Eventually I landed a pretty sweet job as a kindergarten teacher, so I was officially getting paid to play duck-duck-goose and hide-and-seek for a few hours a day.

After a few years doing that, I broadened my horizons and set my sights on China. I wanted to learn Mandarin and start the next chapter in my travels.

China was wild. I made tons of friends, traveled all over the country, and became fluent in Mandarin.

But after being in China for a while, I began thinking about my future. It had been ten years since I left the US. I was having a blast traveling, but I had no job security and saving any money very difficult working for low wages.

So I hatched a crazy plan to make US dollars while working in China. I wanted to start an internet based business so that I could work on my computer in China but earn US money. Even just $30 per day was basically a full time income in China.

It took me about six months of fumbling around: browsing around different sites, joining tons of mailing lists, watching hours of promotional videos, and following my share of purported “gurus” before I came across Wealthy Affiliate.

They were the legit online training center I was looking for. After three months of training I had made my first sale through my website. Six months after that I was generating regular sales. After a total of eighteen months working on my website I was earning over $10,000 per month so I quit my job in China and bought plane ticket back to the USA.

Thanks to my affiliate websites, by 2013 I owned my own home, a brand new truck, and a motorcycle! As of 2021, I'm married with a son, and still working from home “full time” (about 3 hours a day).

Personally, I'm kind of done with traveling for now and enjoy being a homebody. I like tinkering with my house and going on walks with my wife. It's a simple life. No Lamborghini's and no private islands, but I have a family and a couple hobbies, and I'm good with that.

One More Cup of Coffee is about helping you craft your own version of the perfect life. Where do you see yourself next year? What about 10 years down the road?

The cool thing about starting an affiliate blog is that you can take your business anywhere in the world and work at any hour of the day, any days of the week. You don't need any qualifications or prerequisites to learn. No degree required! You can learn everything online, and learn at your own pace.

Making money from your blog is pretty simple, but it takes a lot of work. Don't expect this to be a get-rich-quick thing. If you're ready to put in the hours consistently over the next year or two, I'm ready to share my knowledge with you and help you start earning money on the internet, through your own blog.

Hi Nathaniell, love your website and your great attitude.,it shows in your writing.Your story is awesome and inspiring.I’m twice your age and only started my education in Internet Marketing in January of this year (2016).If only I had discovered WA sooner! I live in Southern California, but I traveled extensively when I was in the Navy.It was quite an adventure seeing other countries and cultures.
I’ve been following you at WA,and I wish you continued success.I read your page titled Complaints about Me, and all I can say is be true to yourself and keep it real. You can’t please everyone.

Pretty much how I roll now. I used to argue more with people, but you can’t please everyone. I just try my best to help people that enjoy my reviews and want to start earning money online in a legit way.

I certainly DID NOT recommend that program. You must be thinking of someone else. I never recommend binary options.

Hey, just wanted to say that I’m also a member at WA.
Thing is, I noticed that most people there don’t make a full living online, and those who do aren’t even close to you in terms of success.
Yet it only took you ‘a few months’ to make some ‘decent’ cash and to actually buy a house after 18 months! Are you some sort of an outlier selling false hopes? Possibly. I am yet to see more than a 100 people on WA who make a full living online, even though WA is a massive community!
Yet your success was quick and only grew in a stable manner.
How can I get the same results? I know you will probably say something like “I did the training they offered and worked hard” yet that’s true for pretty much everyone out there at WA.
There’s this guy, Colton James, on WA who got his first 10K month after a year, which is crazy (It was December though, but on November he made 5K) and not something any other person was able to accomplish at WA.

Here’s what I think – Most of us can’t do it like you do it, not even close, and WA is only so much help for that progress to making a living marketing.

    Any thoughts?

My response is this: Quiet Results ARE happening. How long have you been in WA? What makes you think there are less than 100 people seeing my success? I have a giant list of people that are making good money, but it’s a list I’ve collected as I pay attention to success posts in WA.

What about the people that aren’t blogging about it? I was making $10k/month for about a year before I started THIS blog you see now. I didn’t tell anyone how much I made other than to say I quit my job after 2 years. TWO YEARS.

People are shy to share their results because they don’t want others copying them, and they don’t want to get a bunch of questions about “the secret to success”. The issue with making money online is that once you do, everyone thinks you found a secret of have something special. It’s just hard work and perseverance and eventually you find something that works for you.

Sure, MOST people don’t make money online. But MOST people quit. I consider myself an outlier only because I worked harder than most. If you aren’t willing to put in the hours, to fail a few times, and to try until your brain hurts then you probably won’t make any money! It’s just like any other type of business you might start. This is not just taking a college business class where you can skim the material and hope for a C+ to pass the class. You get the results you put in.

Sorry to rant, but it really sounded like you wanted to make it sound like it was “easy” for me and that normal people can’t do it. I don’t have a college education, never studied business, and couldn’t build a website before. I started my first site on a broken laptop from behind the Great Firewall of China, battling extremely slow internet speeds and blocked websites.

“Most of us can’t do it” is exactly why you haven’t made any money yet. I’ve always considered myself someone that can do ANYTHING I set my mind to as long as I try.

I didn’t mean to say that your effort means nothing, forgive me if it came out that way.
It’s just that most people put a lot of effort (A LOT) through years and years of work, and it comes to the point when everyone who succeeds is an outlier even still.
I mean, people go and fight through a degree for four years that are just as hard, maybe even harder, then opening an online business – and they make it, yet online marketers mostly don’t. How come? You could say that it’s because they quit. People all over take pride in making 1,500$ a month after a year of hard work, which is great, but then what? You are one of the super affiliets, you know your stuff, you walk the talk, very few people could measure up to your level or even half your level. I myself took a while to come up with a niche (too long) that I would enjoy writing about, and literally only today started my website (which is an epic fail thus far, as expected I suppose), and it really Takes the wind out of my sails to see people take so much *pride* in making 1,500$ sometimes even after two whole years of work. It comes to the point where it has nothing to do with loving what you do, it just becomes a waste of time that you will do part time for years and years.

I will agree with you though, as long as you keep trying, you can’t fail, and mathimatically you can fail only so much before you become successful, trying and working so much to the point that failure becomes improbable.
It’s just that there are some people that take one year to live happily off their earnings on the net, and there are those who won’t get to the 3K/month mark for years and years to come. And yet time never stops by, it’s a sad truth.

I’m not trying to hate or underestimate the effort that you put into this, but there are people who in twice the time couldn’t get to half your results, and likely never will.

I 100% agree with you that “mathematically you can fail only so much before you become successful”. That’s so true! I don’t believe that there are people that will “never” get results.

I do however think there are a lot of people that claim to be trying hard when they are actually not. Working 2 hours per day on your website means different things for different people. Some people just mess around online making logos and writing junk articles, while others spend time studying and trying to write articles and help people. Different types of action yield different results.

Someone trying for two years might try every day, 7 days a week, and get great results. Other people may take a six month break (essentially starting over), then start again. Their “two years” is not equal to the “two years” from the previous example.

Yeah, everyone who tries enough will succeed.
But it’s a long process and almost everyone quits – They don’t know things that other people do, and they are forced to learn and adapt as they go, and a lot of people are unable to do that.
You I really don’t get, you became successful very quickly despite making a lot of mistakes, some of which even I, who only started a few days ago, wouldn’t make, you rose to become very successful in two years (10K/month, yeah?)
There has to be an extra factor there, otherwise everyone would be as successful as you are assuming they put in the same amount of effort. Was it your niche? Your talent at writing? Your ingenuity? Something else?
Don’t get me wrong, wealthy affiliate is an awesome program through and through, but very few affiliates reach your level so to speak.
What’s up with that? Do you have any unique methods that you developed over the years to become who you are today? There’s no other way besides working hard, yet you must have some idea of working smart.

      Here’s what I believe

If you will go through the same training that every one else does and still stand above them then you clearly must have something that they don’t, even those old ladies from the crack stories about how “She opened a blog for her family when she traveled and got 10,000 subscribers before she even noticed!!!” did something right, even if they didn’t mean to.
Today what sets you apart is your level of experience in this industry – but what was it then?

Forgive me if I sound rude or anything, it’s just that I’m trying to find a method here, something to give an extra push.

I’m just saying you can consider yourself one of the many failures, or a success story waiting to happen. If you are lumping yourself into the failure category before you start, then it’s over already. If you believe you can do it, then you’re the success story. The way you speak about the subject seems like there some “fate” involved, as if statistically you are doomed to fail. IF the only reason people fail is that they quit, then don’t quit. Don’t become a statistic. That’s completely within your power.

I know that most people won’t succeed at this. But my website is not for them. My website is for the people that have the desire to succeed. It won’t be an easy journey. They will want to quit, and will doubt themselves along the way. I did many times! But they will reach their goal because they will overcome these things.

Who will be a success and who won’t? It’s impossible to say in the beginning. Many smart people will “out think” themselves and quit. Many “not so smart” people are just so stubborn that they’ll accidentally succeed (that’s me).

I dunno what to tell you. You seem stuck on the idea that it’s possible you’ll fail. Yeah, it’s possible. Now make sure it doesn’t happen by taking action despite this fear of failure.

I read the entire conversation between you too and I had to leave my opinion.

Vlad, you sound as if you are determined to fail, what’s up with that?

Nathaniell, you do have a lot of patience to convince Vlad to not be a failure.

My conclusion is always like this: If you think you are a failure then you are. On the other hand, if you think that you are a success then you are.

Everyone can be successful, however, your state of mind must think success!

      End of story.

    Hi Nathaniell,
Enjoyed reading about your background. I traveled and lived abroad in Europe as well. Am now just getting on board with Wealthy Affiliate and the idea of making money online. Your experiences and the way you present them on your sight, are so valuable. Thanks for all the great info and resources.
    Best,
    John
