At first glance, Your Income Gateway seems like a great deal. Unlike most similar sites, this one is actually left open for anyone to access. So, you get to see the member’s area and a bunch of training videos. On the surface, this might look great – but don’t be fooled, the site isn’t all that it appears to be. Personally, I think this might be because it's an old product and they don't know that their members area is open to the public, but I'm only guessing.

These are just some of the many videos that the site hosts.
Let’s start with the videos.
There are a lot of training videos and they’re focused on internet marketing, including things like SEO, keywords, meta information, content creation and link building. It is an impressive amount of videos, and I don’t have the time to go through what every one of them teaches.
The videos themselves are actually the first thing that concerns me about this company. There are a lot of them, but they aren’t particularly high quality. Most of the time, they simply involve a narrator talking to a slideshow, although sometimes there will be pictures of the narrator’s screen as well.
The training itself is okay, I guess, but it isn’t very in depth. It's more like a ‘primer' to online business, than actually teaching you the steps of how to make money.
Additionally, the videos often don’t teach why they are having people take certain steps. If you are going to successful in internet marketing, then you have to understand how it works and why different things are effective. I think this will cause a lot of people to be doing stuff they don't really understand.
The videos make it look like the site put a lot of time and money into setting itself up. In turn, that makes it seem legitimate. That’s not necessarily true though.
To me, it looks like the videos are PLR, which stands for Private Label Rights. With PLR, people buy access to a large amount of information, which can include eBooks, videos, images and more. They buy the right to sell those products and often to use them as they see fit. So “Your Income Gateway” is showing you these videos, but they probably didn't make them.
For example, one such PLR product is called Mentoring for Marketers. That set offers 70 videos for $27. Some of the videos in their list are:
I don't really have an issue with this, but it does make it hard for the company to provide you with support on building your business if they are not really “experts” in their field.
The Steps They Promote
Looking at the training, you would think that the point of the site is to teach people about making money by building their own website. Certainly, that’s what the videos themselves are targeted at.
But, if you look at it, that isn’t really the case.
Instead, there is a four step process listed on the main page. It starts with this:
At first glance, that sounds like you are going to get one-on-one help, but that isn’t really true. The phrase ‘full advantage of your membership’ is a pretty clear warning of this. Instead, you are providing your phone number to the company, and they are going to use that to try and get you to spend as much money as possible. Sometimes they sell you “traffic packages” or try to sell you expensive hosting plans for your website. Other times they may try to sell you coaching courses for $1,000 or more.
The second step is this:
That step is actually really major manipulation. For example, one of those videos is all about focusing on opportunities, not on obstacles. That sounds great on paper (or on a motivational poster) – but it’s not good business sense.
If you’re going to work on earning money, then you need to know the obstacles and know how to overcome them. You can’t just close your eyes, focus on the positives and pretend the obstacles don’t exist. In my opinion, Your Income Gateway is trying to get you to consider buying things that they plan to sell you.
Their third step is where the truth comes out:
Essentially, you are supposed to be earning money by posting links. In this case, the site seems to be focusing on the idea of using your own site as a way to post links, because you have more control.
Link posting has become a pretty common scam these days. Sites claim that you can earn lots of money by promoting links, even though actually posting links is an approach that involves a lot of time and effort for little reward.
Putting the link through your own site does have some advantages, but it still isn’t a particularly good way to earn money. After all, if you are going to set up your own site, why not do something a bit more lucrative with it.
Your Income Gateway also promotes a ‘surprise bonus’ as part of its training for link posting. That bonus is a free site that you can start using. Sites like this a horrible. Each person tends to get the same site, which also means that they aren’t very likely to rank. At the same time, you are pressured into buying expensive hosting to even be able to use the site.
The final of their four steps is connected to the link posting, focused on getting you to set up your accounts.
Fiction Versus Reality
The free videos from Your Income Gateway might make it look legitimate, but the site is simply yet another link posting scam.
Rather than waste your time with shiny objects and unbelievable opportunities, I recommend you start learning about online marketing from a legitimate online business training center that can teach you how to start a website and make money from it. It does take time to build a business – there's no such thing as instant riches. But would you rather spend your time posting links and taking surveys or building a money-generating business?
