Product Name: The Email Lifestyle
Product Owner: Ritoban Chakrabarti
Advertised Price: $47
What is it?
The Email Lifestyle is an ebook that touts the importance and benefits of email marketing for businesses and entrepreneurs.
The Email Lifestyle is a great entry-level product that should have been accompanied by a more in-depth, more complete training. The big problem is that it’s just an introduction, yet Ritoban, the product’s creator, fails to mention that. You won’t learn anything new from this product and you will be on a mailing list that assumes you want to know more about all his other lists.
Before You Buy
The whole point of this product is to upsell you on a number of other products created by Ritoban. This one seems to funnel directly into a membership program about email marketing.
Email Instruments is a membership product that’s supposed to provide you with step-by-step training as well as a complete done for you system. My question is; why do I need step-by-step training if I’m getting a “done for you” system?
Considering the core product’s quality, and the additional $47, I can’t imagine this upsell will be worth my investment, or yours.
What I Liked
One of the things I liked about this product is that it was offered in a few different ways. Instead of creating simple PDF for buyers to download, they also made it available for Kindle, which is something a bit different from what other marketers tend to do.
Despite all the things I don’t like about this product, I have to say it is one of the most well-written PDF products I’ve ever seen. You can tell that Ritoban put a lot of effort into the writing portion of this product’s creation.
Why am I mentioning this?
Well because when a product like this — one you’re supposed to learn from — is written poorly it can have a major impact on your ability to soak up the information. When you’re constantly trying to read misspelled words and run-on sentences it takes your focus away from the material, and that can be aggravating.
So, for what it’s worth, the content is very well written.
What I Didn't Like
Since there’s almost no substance to this product, it leaves a lot to be desired. With so many stones left unturned it’s hard to even consider a product at all.
It’s Nothing More than a Lead-in
When I originally noticed the product it was discounted from $47 to $1. Naturally, that got my attention and so I decided to see what the product was all about. I had to go through all the same things you’d go through if you were actually purchasing a product:
- Credit Card info
- Joining the mailing list
- Download the Guide
What’s worse is, you have to do all that just to find out this product is only a lead-in for all Ritoban’s other products.
After I completed all that and downloaded the guide I was immediately bombarded with email after email of various products created by, or promoted by Ritoban. As if it’s not bad enough he’s emailing me with all of his products — which by the way, are not relevant to what I wanted — but he has to send me products created by others too.
Obviously, at that point I’m feeling pretty gypped, like I’d been taken advantage of…and I had been.
Very General Information
The Email Lifestyle guide promises useful information but it fails to deliver. It reads more like a biography with brief cameos from other “successful email marketers”. These cameos are supposed to be case studies, but again, they fail to deliver.
Each one of them starts with the successful email marketer’s name and introduction. From there they just go on and on about how much fun and success they had using email marketing. But that’s not a case study, nor is it specific information. And useful? Definitely not.
Basically the product suffers from trying to boast too much about the effectiveness of email marketing, instead of simply telling its buyer’s how to make the method effective for themselves.
Ritoban is trying to establish himself as The Go-to Guy if you want to learn email marketing. Instead of teaching it, he’s trying to show you how much he knows. Unfortunately, it takes on a Thou doth protest too much vibe.
It’s difficult to rate the level of support for this product because there is none. It was obviously created to funnel you into other products, so Ritoban probably assumed everyone would simply upgrade. However, with any PDF, ebook or downloadable guide there is only technical support, which is only there to help in case of problems while downloading, or other technical details like that.
If you have questions (and you will) no one will be available to help you.
Making a full time income from reading one PDF just isn’t going to happen, especially if there isn’t a good enough support network. Most products like this last just a few short months then disappear. That's the nature of hype in the business of making money online.
