Taking surveys for money is a pretty appealing proposition for a lot of people and sites like Surveys Paid go out of their way to make surveys seem like a great way to earn money. Unfortunately, most of the sales pitch that you see on the site isn’t actually accurate.
The calculator on the site is one example of this. I’ve seen similar calculators all over the place and they imply that you can earn a decent amount of money through surveys.
However, the highlighted fine print at the bottom really tells you what you need to know – none of the information is realistic.
In the course of reviewing products, I’ve ended up looking over countless survey sites. Some of them have been better than others, but I’ve never seen a survey that actually pays $20. Surveys Paid even implies that $5 is the lowest amount that you will typically get per survey, which again is completely inaccurate.
In the case of Surveys Paid, you aren’t even doing surveys for that company at all. Instead, the site just sells you a list of sites that offer surveys online. This is a common tactic and a very misleading one.
All of the information that you can find on lists like this can also be found for free online, it just takes a little bit of digging.
Surveys For Money
Survey companies really run the gambit. Some promote themselves as great ways of earning a living online, but don’t follow through, while some have histories of not paying out their survey takers when they should.
There are even legitimate survey sites out there and users out there who do consistently get checks or payments from them. However, this doesn’t make taking surveys a good strategy.
Most of the time, a survey site will pay you less than $1 to complete a survey and nothing at all for any qualification surveys you complete. Furthermore, it is pretty normal for surveys to take more than 20 minutes.
So, you end up taking a lot of time to earn hardly any money.
Some people try to trick the system by making up responses to surveys rather than trying to be honest. This is faster, but it is also a risk as many survey sites have mechanisms in place to make sure that they aren’t cheated.
This means that if you try to game the system in any way you may lose your account entirely. In fact, survey takers have also found themselves losing their accounts because the company thinks that they were doing something wrong, even when they weren’t.
There are also other issues with survey companies.
For example, people sometimes find that they don’t always get credited for all of the surveys that they do. Alternatively, companies normally don’t provide enough surveys for you to effectively make money from the site and you often end up waiting for more to turn up.
All of these things mean that survey sites are only ever effective if you want to earn a little bit of money on the side. A $20 payment every few months or even every few months (if you really put the work in) is normally about all that you can expect.
So, you can complete surveys for a little bit of extra money, but that really is about it. If you want to earn money online seriously, then you need a different approach altogether.
Here’s an important point. Surveys aren’t really all that effective for earning good money because companies don’t really rely on customer surveys anymore. Some still do, but this is a fading trend. Most of these survey sites are not meant to help you actually make money. They are intended to serve you up with ads, get your email address and market other products to you, and other things that help marketers targeting your wallet.
Making a decent amount of money online is possible, but survey sites aren’t the way to go.
Instead, you need to turn to something that has the potential to grow and develop over time. The best way of doing this is through a website, which is how I developed my own business.
With this approach, you have much more control over your business and you have the potential to keep growing it in the long term. There is also some fantastic training out there that can get you started and show you what direction to go in.
I know that it can be scary to start a real business, so I created a 5 day beginner introduction to affiliate marketing. The course will be sent via email, and you can respond to the emails to ask me any questions you have along the way. The course includes 2 free websites and training modules on how to set up your site.
