Product Name: Survey Money Machines
Product Owner: Hailey Gates
Price: Lots of Time
What Is It?
Offering a list of sites to visit and earn money through surveys, as well as various tips through emails about maximizing profit.
Before You Buy:
Survey Money Machines is little more than a list of different websites to sign up for to complete surveys. Each website on the list must be signed up for individually, so be prepared to receive a lot of spam. The amount of money that you can actually make from Survey Money Machines is limited, and you will probably have to do a considerable amount of work to actually get anything. Like most sites that promote online surveys for making money, this is nothing but a waste of time.
What I Liked:
Most websites that are promoting ways of earning money online tend to emphasize the idea that you can earn a lot of money. Survey Money Machines is actually relatively realistic in the amount of money that you can earn through taking surveys. They estimate between $50 and $500 a month, which is certainly a possible amount.
In fact, website viewers are even warned that taking surveys online for money does require work and is not a ‘get rich quick scheme’. Personally, I consider this pretty obvious, but most websites intentionally hide this aspect, preferring users to think that they will be making lots of money quickly.
The site is entirely free to sign up for and to use, meaning that the only thing you risk trying it out is your time. However, if you are considering giving this a try, make sure you set up an entirely separate email address, because you will end up getting a lot of emails.
What I Didn’t Like:
Throughout the Survey Money Machines website, there is a large emphasis placed on the ‘person’ behind the product. Whether Hailey Gates is actually a real person is a little difficult to determine, but one thing is for certain, the majority of income that the owner of Survey Money Machines makes is not from surveys.
When it comes to considering a site like this, one thing to take into account is the motivation of the company running the site. Normally, products that promote making money online try to sell you something, but Survey Money Machines provides you with its list for free.
So what is the catch?
First, the list of companies isn’t actually that hard to get or that secret. There are a lot of companies that offer surveys for money online, and these vary in quality. The ones that are listed on this site tend to be pretty low quality and you could find sites that were just as effective from a simple Google search.
If you look at the website address that the links from Survey Money Machines actually sends you to, you will see that most, if not all, are affiliate links. This means that the owner of Survey Money Machines is actually making profit from you signing up for the sites, regardless of whether you actually make profit or not.
Little Bits at a Time
Survey Money Machines links you to a large number of survey sites which the user then needs to sign up for. The companies that Survey Money Machines lists are all legitimate companies that do offer paid surveys online, and yes, you can earn money off them.
However, even the sign up process takes a considerable amount of work, particularly as you have to sign up for each different survey site individually. This can take a lot of time, particularly as many of these sites require you to complete a survey just to register for the site.
One of the main tactics of Survey Money Machines is to suggest that users sign up for as many websites as possible. This might (possibly) be a good idea if the websites all paid cash every time you completed a survey, but they don’t. In reality, most survey websites only pay out when you reach a certain amount of credit with them, and often this money can only be obtained as a gift card or even just as an entry into a competition.
If you end up doing surveys for 20 sites, then this is 20 different sites that you will be trying to accrue money on. This is a considerable amount of work, and can be very difficult to maintain. Furthermore, many of the sites on Hailey’s list, and indeed most survey sites in general, don’t actually offer that many surveys, and you still have to qualify for them.
Most of the sites on the list are well known, and I have even tried a number of them in the past before I realized that online surveys were not the way to make money. Often I would receive one survey a week, and the amount of time it took to complete the survey was quite high compared to how much the survey offered. Honestly, it takes a long time to earn enough points to cash out on even one of these surveys.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t count money as being earned when it is credit on a site that I really don’t know that well.
Lack of Support
The way that Survey Money Machines is written, you would expect there to be a considerable amount of support. In fact, users are encouraged to send an email to Hailey with any questions that they might have.
This sounds nice, but the problem is, the email address isn’t even valid. If you type in the address as written, you will get the following error:
This part isn’t too surprising, as [at] probably refers to @ (although why they didn’t just write this initially is beyond me.
However, if you substitute the @ into the email address, you get a Delivery Status Notification (Failure) almost immediately:
I eventually managed to figure out a variant of the email address that worked, but even then, I have not got a reply. Personally, I don’t think it should ever be this hard to get in contact with a company, particularly one that offers support. Now, you can get some answers from their questions section, but this is very simplistic and short, and honestly, most of their answers don’t help at all.
I have never understood why people say that filling out surveys online is fun, because it really isn’t. You might find the first couple of surveys interesting, but after that, they get boring very fast. Some of the surveys for sites are complex and long, and will often require you to take surveys just to qualify for other surveys. As a result, you end up doing more surveys than you actually get paid for, and this gets old fast.
Finally, it’s worth noting that the sign-up tips that you get from this site aren’t actually very good at all, and they certainly aren’t secrets. To me, this provides the last bit of evidence that Survey Money Machines is simply a way for its authors to money through affiliate links, rather than actually helping users in any way.
Who Is This Product For?
Honestly, no one. Unless you have a lot of free time and nothing better to do, completing surveys to make money is a waste of time. You may earn money eventually, but there are much better, more reliable ways to earn money online.
The idea of making money from doing surveys online is pretty popular. A lot of people like the concept, because it suggests that they don’t have to do a lot of work. It is possible to make money through online surveys, but the amount of money you make will never be much. Survey Money Machines estimates that you will earn at least $50 each month, but in reality, there will be a considerable amount of work involved in getting this far.
If you are considering making money online, then online surveys honestly is not a good choice. Not only do you make little, but you have to rely on the companies actually sending you surveys to complete. However, there are a number of online business ideas that are suitable for average people that are more reliable and more relevant for making money in the long-term.
