What Is It
Skinny Body Care is an MLM company with a weightless supplement as it’s flagship product.
There is no data showing that Skinny Body Care’s Skinny Fiber pills are any better or worse than other similar products. It may work for some people, it won’t work for others.
The company has a very limited range of products, and this owner has a long history of busted biz ops. I wouldn’t recommend getting involved with this one.
Skinny Body Care has two products: Skinny Fiber for weightless, and Ageless for wrinkle removal. Skinny Fiber is their flagship product, and what’s talked about most.
The strange thing is that the pill is called “Skinny Fiber”, but they claim that the main reason it works is because of Enzymes. They also claim:
“The biggest CHALLENGE to losing weight is that most of us are NOT getting enough enzymes from our food to properly DIGEST what we eat”
This is strange for 2 reasons.
1. I’ve never, ever heard this in my life as being the main reason. Natural News says that lack of digestion can cause body stress and weight gain, but recommends:
While digestive enzyme supplements are far from magic weight loss pills, they are a very useful tool that will help you achieve total body health over a period of time. A high-quality general digestive supplement is beneficial to almost everyone.
It seems to me you could just buy some digestive enzymes from Rite Aid for $5 rather than $60.
2. Excuse my lame logic here, but I would think that if your body is not digesting things properly, then you are not getting enough nutrients, and you should be losing weight. But I’m just guessing, and I’m not a health professional.
In The Media
You may have seen Skinny Fiber featured on a YouTube show called Balancing Act. This may seem like it gives the company and product some legitimacy, but know that it’s a paid advertisement.
This company also has a rating of “F” on the BBB due to multiple complaints about trouble getting refunds and re-bill issues.
Does It Work?
Supplement Geek gives an excellent breakdown of what’s actually in the pills, as far as he can tell. But as is typical of products claiming to have unbelievable results due to proprietary blends, they will not reveal the true ingredients.
It reminds me a lot of a company selling a product called Bulletproof Coffee that experienced a brief stint of popularity. It was supposed to increase focus, make you healthier, etc etc but the guy would not reveal how he made roasted the coffee. It received a lot of criticism in the media for being very like traditional “snake oil salesmen”, offering products with healing properties but no real studies to show proof.
I just mean to say that there really is no scientific data to back the claims that Skinny Body Care Makes.
My Opinion On Weight Loss
I am an ex-fatty. I lost a bunch of weight in high school, and have been up and down on the scale, in and out of the gym for years. I know a thing or two about weight loss and health.
There are so many diets out there it’s unbelievable. Some work for some people, others not. Some swear by the Atkins diet (no carbs). Anyone that knows Tim Ferris will promise you that the secret to weight loss is the slow carb diet, whose easy to remember mantra is “30 grams of protein within 30 minutes of waking up”.
Some of the rules people follow are quite stupid, but they work. My weight loss secret was just tracking fat and carbs, getting 1 hour of exercise 5 days a week, and having a cheat day once a week. Most people nowadays say calories is what you should track, not fat, but it worked for me.
The #1 factor in losing weight is going to be cutting calories, upping your exercise, and being consistent. If you just stop drinking soda and go for a 30 minute walk each day (making no other changes) you will lose weight.
Many of these regimes or products that claim incredible results are not successful because they revolutionary in any way. The produce success stories because they allow people to follow a motto, stick a specific diet, and many times provide support network (even if that support network is knowing you’ve got another bottle of pills coming next month).
Personally, I don’t think Skinny Fiber is any better or worse than the next appetite suppressant. It will work for some people, and won't work for others. It's not because the Skinny Fiber pill has any magic formula or ingredients in it. Save the hype for late night TV infomertials.
The #1 red flag you should be aware of is that this company is associated with a guy named Ben Glinsky. Well, he’s the CEO. What you might not know is that this isn’t his first company. In fact, he has a long history of creating MLM companies and similar “biz ops” that are now defunct. Here’s the short list I could dig up:
- Brain abundance
- Pro Wealth Solutions
- Home Wealth University
- ProBuilderPlus.com, SGLeads.com, Gotleads.com
- My World Plus
- Rejuvenate World Wide
Look up any of these companies and you’ll see multiple ripoff reports, complaints, and blogs calling out issues related to
- recurring billing issues
- misleading claims
- $10,000’s in associated costs
- rude sales people
- lack of customer support
All these things are very common in the MLM industry, and it’s why I recommend people stay away from it. In fact, if you’ve never joined an MLM, I recommend you never join one. If you are an MLM-lifer and specifically looking for an MLM biz op…well, I’m not sure I have any good advice for you. Most MLMs eventually fail, except for a few big names which are constantly in and out of controversy related to how much people actually make selling their products.
The strange thing about Skinny Body Care is that it just can’t get away from being a typical MLM. If they would just say, “Hey, we’re a diet pill company and you can get paid if you sell our pills to your friends”, I’d be totally OK with that.
But they start down the path of “Win a sports car” and “Live the life you always dreamed of.”
As someone that does work for himself, I can tell you that you will NOT get rich selling diet pills. You are going to have to recruit to make money with this company. And to recruit enough people to get rich, you are going to need a decent strategy.
Do you have a current network to market to?
At most, Skinny Body Care is going to provide you with a ‘welcome package’ with some general ideas on how to market Skinny Fiber. Do not expect an extensive amount of help unless you have a very active sponsor which is going to personally mentor you.
Digging into the details of how you actually earn money with this company was a real bear. They don’t make it easy to understand.
The most basic thing you need to know at this point is that you’ll be purchasing bottles at $59.95 wholesale price and selling them for $79.95. Their website says something about doing this through a website, but the process is not explained, and examples of websites are not given.
- Do we get a free website?
- Do we need our own website?
- How do we sell without a website?
After that, we start to get into the MLM jargon. This is where you need to recruit distributors. They glaze over the general how-to-sell-products part and jump right into how to make money recruiting. This is common with MLMs, and you’ll make a lot more money recruiting sellers and having them recruit sellers than you ever will selling Skinny Fiber.
That’s how MLM works, and it’s why it often gets compared to a pyramid scheme; recruiters recruiting recruiters til everyone loses steam and moves on to the next biz op.
For those that are interested, they use a 3×8 matrix. If you do join, this is the part I would focus on in the beginning. There are lots of incentive pas this, including:
- Infinity Bonuses
- Bulk Order Bonuses (2% across the board for anything over 50BV [BV = Business Volume])
- Quarterly Leadership Pools (need to meet volume requirements)
- Rank Achievement Bonuses (Please ignore)
However, all of these bonuses require high volume of sales + high volume of recruits (including your distributors recruiting). My suggestion would be to focus on getting your sales tactics down before you start dreaming about luxury cars and dream houses.
Association With Unprofessional People
The 2nd main reason I won't be recommending this opportunity to anyone is because it's clearly full of amateurs who do not know how to run a business, and instead spend their days defending the company in online forums. Someone posted about being upset about spending money on the product and opportunity and didn't make any return on her investment. Instead of being helpful or just ignoring the person and getting on with their own business, Skinny Body Distributors responded like this:
The Basic, Silver, and Gold plans have their prices shows on the main website, but there are no mention of Platinum and Diamond level costs.
- Silver – $189.70
- Gold – $279 or $499
- + $59.95/month for both
Be wary of comments about how well Skinny Fiber works. Many commenters are distributors looking to defend their company. The world of health supplements is full of pseudo-science and armchair dietitians.
I also don't like the name – SKINNY BODY care doesn't sound right. Shouldn't the focus be health, not size? Many of us can never truly be “skinny”. Using that word in the product name sets our mind up for failure.
MLM VS Blogging
Skinny Body Care only has 2 products, only 1 of which is marketed heavily as being useful. Are you willing to base you entire business on 1 product that you haven’t even tried yet?
Most people experience much more success promoting products they use and love. This is why I always tell visitors to my website that they should start a blog about something they love, and make money promoting THOSE products.
There are are literally thousands of companies out there that will pay you to promote their stuff. All you need is a website and a passion to write about the stuff you care about. That’s what I do for a living, and you can copy the steps I took to start your own blog-business, based on your own interests.
Whatever type of product you decide to promote, it's VITAL that you generate leads to grow your business.
But let's face it, "parties" are boring, and no one likes the annoying Facebook friend who's always promoting a biz-op.
That's why I use this lead generation system. Learn how to generate leads outside of your circle of friends and family and discover what it means to truly own your own business, rather than just be a cheerleader for one network marketing company.
