Product Name: Paid Social Media Jobs (Fast Track Job Program)
Product Owner: Unknown
Advertised Price: $97 /$47 / $37
What Is It?
You can get paid to manage other peoples social media accounts, including account creation, design, posting, and strategy consultations.
It is true that you can make money doing this, but it's a highly competitive field, and will take more time, effort, and education than this product implies.
Before You Buy:
The video to start off with was poorly produced and pulled a typical move, playing on people's emotions. The classic line from the beginning of the video was “the economy sucks”. How more cliche could you get?
Lots of the strategies outlined in the program actually work. People do get paid very well to manage social media campaigns for large companies. These people, however, are usually college graduates with some kind of degree in marketing or business.
The videos in the members are are pretty good quality, and good for some ideas to get your brain movie. They DO NOT outline how to get started step by step.
What I Liked:
Freelancing actually works. I hire people to work on my websites, and would consider hiring someone to manage my social media accounts if I had a large enough business. This is a real job, and it's becoming more important as technology advances and companies leverage the internet for advertising.
They do not lie about the fact that work like this will start slow. It may take a while to get your first job, and a while longer before you're making consistent or good income. They also say that it will be a challenge to learn new things. This is true too. For their honesty, I've given them a score of a little over 50%.
As I mentioned above, the videos are pretty good quality; not the best I've seen, but certainly not the worst.
What I Didn't Like:
As usual, this is a very hyped product, telling you that you can work very few hours per day, and make a large amount of money. They've got some seriously inflated numbers regarding how much you can make being a social media manager that's hired over the internet. Remember, you're competing with competent individuals from emerging markets (Asia, Eastern Europe), which means there is always someone who will work for less money that you.
Their website is essentially a Fiverr copy. People advertise what they will do for X amount of dollars. I was seriously disappointed that this is the way they expect you to hook up with high paying jobs. Here is a screenshot from the jobs board. This is what you can expect.
Why even pay for this product? You can find higher paying jobs, from a wider variety of sources on regular freelancing jobs boards. Please see this post.
There is no direction given on the site. You are not put through any kind of training on how to actually manage someone's account, or shown any examples. The product you are paying for is essentially the jobs board, and the videos giving you some broad ideas of what you can do as a social media manager. For example, it says you can tweet for someone. If you have never used twitter before, you will need to find other resources to learn how to use it.
This is like following a recipe without any units of measurement. Imagine how chicken soup would taste if the recipe said:
- Step 1: Boil water
- Step 2: Add chicken
- Step 3: Add some vegetables
- Step 4: Add some salt
- Step 5: Cook it
Your chicken soup is now ready to eat.
Who Is This Product For:
This product could be useful for someone with a knack social media marketing who did not know any good job boards to post their skills to. Now that you know some better ones, there is no reason to buy it.
