Product Name: Online Money Monsoon
Product Owner: Sam Allister
What Is It?
How to make money with CPA, PPC, Facebook marketing, blogging, and mobile marketing
Great ideas and true information, but simply doesn't have enough info to really guide a total newbie.
Before You Buy:
I was very skeptical about this product because someone spammed my comment section with it. Booo. But the sales page was surprisingly simple. He did not try to sell you anything extra, and the sales video was just a guy who actually explained what he will teach with in his program.
It was a breath of fresh air.
Inside there are about 15 videos on various methods of making money online. It was unclear to me whether they should fit all together or be used completely separately, but I'm pretty sure it was just like a ‘buffet' of money-making strategies to give you options of where to start.
The video quality was not very high, and audio was the same. It was definitely some guy in his bedroom, no a professional production team. This added to a feel of ‘authenticity' however, so I can't say it was horrible. I actually enjoyed the very honest approach that Sam Allister used in his presentation.
What I Liked:
I absolutely loved the sales page. It was simple, straightforward, and honest. The price is just $45, and you don't get all those stupid upsells and videos of fast cars or women on the beach. There was no sob story about a bum that discovered a secret to making millions. I review so many of those crap products that I was amazed at the simplicity and honesty of Online Money Monsoon (despite the lame name).
All the information in the videos was legit. To be honest, I don't know much about CPA and PPC, but I do know enough to understand that Sam Allister knew what he was talking about.
He was also very insistent about telling viewers to ask for help if they need it. This is great because many people give up after being confused by new information. I actually sent a support ticket (Friday), so we'll see how long it takes him to get back to me. [UPDATE] Support ticket was answered on Sunday, and Sam gave me some very solid advice to the questions I asked. He was also very polite and professional. I've added +3 points to the score for awesome ticket support.
Usually with these types of ‘learn to make money' products I don't actually learn anything. I just skim though them for the review. I actually watched all 10+ videos because I DO want to learn CPA. So yeah, did actually get some value out of Online Money Monsoon.
What I Didn't Like:
The video presentation was pretty amateur. If he's making hundreds of thousands of dollars doing this, I would think he could put together a decently recorded video and have someone edit out all the “ums” and “ahs”.
There were a few points I disagreed on, such as the effectiveness of using Blogger (free) blogs, and that tags are actually useful for ranking. Tags are useless for search engines. I also think that beginners using Adsense is a bad idea because it's easy to get kicked out.
The thing I disagreed most is that using YouTube to make money is a viable business plan. This takes a HUGE amount of time, and likely will take a decent production team, and know-how for video editing. There are some simple videos and crazy people that do ‘make it', but those are the exception, not the rule. Most popular channels have some kind of money behind them, and even then, no one really knows how much these people make.
Though in the end I rated this a positive rating, it's a low thumbs up. Why?
I felt there simply wasn't enough information for someone to really LEARN anything from the videos. Sure, there are some great ideas and legit information. But there are no actionable lessons inside other than to sign up for various accounts. I can tell you that to start a micro brewery you need a license to sell alcohol, but if I don't tell you where or HOW to get it, you basically have to do your own research.
So I think the course is definitely worth the $45 price tag, but I think there could have been a lot more done with regards to step-by-step information showing you what you need to do. This will NOT be a one-stop-shop for making money on the internet, and you'll need to follow up with lots of your own research.
Who Is This Product For:
This could be a good product for someone that knows a little bit about how to make a blog and what affiliate marketing is, but doesn't really understand how it fits together. I think an intermediate marketer might be able to get some fresh ideas from these videos, and maybe even get to speak to Sam Allister himself via support and get some help on current campaigns.
The main issue I found with Online Money Monsoon was that it didn't provide members with a step by step guide on HOW to do things like set up a blog, make a link, add pictures, track traffic, and get found in search engines. These things are HUGE when it comes to making money on the internet.
The main reason my #1 product is currently ranked that way is because it actually provides you with those things. Video tutorials, live chat support, training with pictures, and 1-on-1 support with a community expert marketers are just some of the features that make it the best place for newbies and intermediate level internet entrepreneurs.
