What is it?
My First Money Online is basically a video course that promises to teach how to make your first few dollars online by creating and marketing info-products.
This product is is simply not realistic, and it's confusing right from the start. Once you finally start to understand it you realize that everything you’re being told is based on a bunch of hypothetical scenarios. It's also clear that product's creators don't even follow their own advice, which in my mind, is the ultimate sin for online marketing products. Save your money.
Before You Buy
You should probably know that trying to create and sell a product online is typically thought of as the harder way to do things. If you do a bit of research and ask anyone who has been marketing for a while, most of them will tell you that creating a product should come much later, after you’ve already built a business and a name for yourself.
Product creation is one way to make money but it’s certainly not the only way. If you’re looking to make your first few bucks online then I’d encourage you to check out some of these other products, which I’ve given good reviews, including my #1 recommendation, which has everything you need to build a solid business from the ground up (plus it’s where I started learning 5 years ago)
What I Liked
When I first cracked this product open I had serious doubts about it. It looked like another terrible PDF that was going to be difficult to review due to a lack of substance. As I read on I realized there was a bit more to it and I was able to find some things I liked about it.
Learn A Lot About Google Drive
If nothing else, then you can definitely pick up quite a few tips about how to use Google Drive by watching the videos in My First Money Online. Tobias (he does most of the videos) goes into a lot of detail about the many features and functions inside Drive and I think these are valuable to learn.
If you don’t know, Google Drive is a Cloud-based set of tools, which basically serves as Google’s response to Microsoft Office. Inside Drive you have an entire suite of tools that can replace the Microsoft Office suite. I use Google Drive for a lot of things and I find it to be very useful. However, like Microsoft Office, there’s a lot to learn.
Branden and Tobias don’t go over everything that you can do with Drive, but they do cover quite a lot. The important thing though, is that they give you a lot of really good ides you can use in Google Drive to help you create a product with it. This is the goal of this section of the course and I think they do a pretty good job with it.
What I Didn't Like
As I already mentioned, my first impression of this product wasn’t good. Once I opened the PDF and readied myself for reading I was kind of shocked by how bad it looked. There is only nine pages and each page was almost bare, with very little text and a few links.
I thought it was going to be an ebook that simply linked to other articles and information around the web. I almost closed it and started something else, but I decided to take a look at the links and realized that Branden & Tobias were only using the PDF as a way to link to the YouTube videos they had created for this product.
Now, I have no idea why they would choose to do things this way when they could have linked the videos from the download page, a website or a members area. It makes no sense. There’s nothing in the PDF that isn’t also in the video so it’s just an extra step, and one that’s confusing at that.
What About Other Types of Products?
Most of the information in this product seemed to be geared towards helping you create PDF (ebook) product. Branden and Tobias continually say “info-product” but everything they show you is used for making a PDF.
An info-product could be anything: a PDF, a video, audio, a series of all of them, etc. However, these guys are adamant about teaching you how to create a PDF, probably because it’s the easiest thing to teach, but that doesn't help really help you.
This product would have been much better if they would have showed you how to create other types of info-products. PDFs are harder to market — they're easier to create, but they aren't nearly as sellable as an audio or video course. By sticking to PDFs only, they have skimped out on the teaching of other important and profitable product types.
I'm not saying that PDFs can't be sold. It happens all them time. People make great money and build huge lists with PDFs. I just wish these guys had given more thought to other things. Even Tobias and Branden understand that videos are better than PDFs. That's why send their customers to YouTube videos.
The type of support that’s offered with My First Money Online is the exact type of support that I hate dealing with. It’s the worse type of support for beginners too, because in reality, it’s not support at all (as far as I see it).
My First Money Online uses support desk to help them field support tickets and minimize the amount of time they have to spend on their customer’s problems. Fine. I get that. The things is, support desks are used for technical support only. That means you will only get help with stuff like download problems, refunds or technical issues. Sure, those things are important, but they aren’t the only things that matter.
What if you were able to download the product with no problems and you don’t want a refund, you just have a simple question about implementing one of the methods discussed in the course? It's not clear whether they are available for questions or not.
Most newbies need real help, from real people who can discuss real problems, not just issues with downloads or glitches. I recently purchased an amazing product I have a stellar review, and even though I've been making money online for 5 years now, I still had a few questions to ask the owner (which he was able to answer!)
There are plenty of ways to make money online, but I’ve always found affiliate marketing to be the easiest to understand, and the cheapest to get started in. An $11 domain is all you need to get started. You can learn how to do what I do here.
