Mega Commission Machine Review: Solo Ads + Traffic Exchanges

February 3, 2015

Mega Commission MachineProduct Name: Mega Commission Machine
Price: ‘Free’
Upsells: $15+/month, $17, $37 and others
Rating: 10/100

What is it?

A site claiming to help people make money online quickly and easily through the creation of a squeeze page. Note – the key word here is claiming, because the site really doesn’t live up to its promises.

Short Review

Mega Commission Machine might be free, but the product is full of pressure to purchase different things. The whole emphasis of the site is on the development of ‘highly converting’ squeeze pages, yet the pages that you can create are basically useless. The only plus side of the site is the free training, but even then, that has to be read with caution as it isn’t all accurate.

Before You Buy

There isn’t anything to buy here, but it is still important to be careful. Right from the start, Mega Commission Machine tries to get you to spend money on things like eBooks and courses, without offering much indication of what these contain or why they are needed.

In fact, to use what the site is promoting you have to pay for a subscription to Get Response, which costs from $15 per month. Needless to say, that little fact isn’t made clear on most of the site.

What I Liked

Mega Commission Machine does have positive aspects. First of all, the site is free to join, which is always a plus. This lets you check out what the site has to offer before you actually spend any money.

Honestly, this is a nice change, because far too many sites charge you up front before you have any idea what they are offering or exactly what you are paying for.

You do also get access to something the site calls Traffic Academy, which in reality is a site called Easy Street Smarts Academy. This site is a relatively basic training course in making money online, but it is useful for getting an idea of what is involved.

However, not all of the training is entirely accurate, so take everything you read with a grain of salt.

What I Didn’t Like

Pressure And Ineffective Approaches

Mega Commission Machine itself might be free, but there is a lot of pressure to spend money. This is obvious from the very first promotions once you sign up. Even some of the free elements of the site have hidden costs – which is something that I find very frustrating.

For example, the site offers a free personalized email follow up series that lasts a year. This series includes upwards of 70 emails, which sounds like a good deal if you are promoting products through ClickBank.

However, the catch is that this email series is designed for a specific autoresponder that costs (the autoresponder is Get Response). So, you have to sign up for the cheapest paid membership through the site, which comes to $15/month.

That’s kind of expensive for something that was supposed to be free, particularly as there no way of knowing beforehand if the emails are actually worth the bother.

Additionally, you can only get the ‘free’ emails by skipping the trial of Get Response altogether and going straight to the paid version. This means you don’t even get the chance to check out whether the autoresponder is something that you want to be paying money for.

The training also promotes approaches that end up costing money, such as solo ads.

Solo Ads

There are a lot of ways to get traffic to a website that don’t involve paying money and paid approaches are only effective in some situations. I find it concerning that Mega Commission Machine is promoting these approaches so readily, without any indication of their limitations or how to use them well.

In the case of solo ads, the entire training is less than 300 words long. This leaves readers with no real indication of how the approach is supposed to work or whether it will be effective for them.

Solo ads themselves are not particularly effective anyway.

This approach means that you are essentially paying another marketer and borrowing his email list. You then send an email promotion through that list.

It sounds like a great idea because it is faster and easier than building a list of your own, but it doesn’t work so well in practice.

Email lists are incredibly effective tools when they are high quality and built for your specific purpose. But, when you are using someone else’s list, you are targeting an audience that doesn’t necessarily have an interest in what you are promoting.

Most of the time the list you end up selling to isn’t particularly responsive. After all, if someone had a very good list, they would make much more money from it by promoting to the list themselves rather than selling ads. In general, solo ads are used to spam people. You have no idea how the list was created, and people selling solo ads are often a middle man, who doesn't really care about the quality of the list. Any marketer that has spent his own man hours to build a responsive list certainly wouldn't send Clickbank trash to it.

A similar issue exists with a second approach promoted by Mega Commission Machine, which is traffic exchanges. Basically, this approach involves clicking on other people’s ads in exchange for getting people to click on yours.

The approach gets you traffic, sure, but the traffic you get is worthless. None of the people clicking on your ads are actually interested in what you are promoting, so you aren’t actually going to earn any money off them.

The whole process is just a big waste of time.

Squeeze Pages

So, the big thing about Mega Commission Machine is the concept of building amazing squeeze pages and using these to dramatically boost your conversions – thus increasing how much money you can make.

Squeeze Pages

This makes the pages sound fantastic, but how fantastic are they really?

Squeeze pages can still be effective at getting people to buy things, but they are pretty limited. In particular, search engines are emphasizing content on websites more and more, so simply having squeeze pages is no longer enough to rank sites. Many PPC networks like Adwords and Facebook Ads do not even allow squeeze pages (even though you can get some past the mods sometimes).

Mega Commission Machine doesn’t really provide much useful training for how you are supposed to get traffic to the squeeze page in the first place.

There is also a catch when it comes to the squeeze pages on the site. To actually make the squeeze page you have to create an opt-in form using Get Response. As I mentioned before, Get Response is a paid service, so even the squeeze pages at Mega Commission Machine aren’t actually free.

Because of the way the approach is designed, the opt-in forms are only active when your subscription to Get Response is active. This means that you have to pay $15 per month (not counting hosting and a domain name) just to get a single-page website up and online.

Also, the squeeze pages they give you are very unlikely to be effective at making money. The image below is the preview that the site gave me of my squeeze page. Have these been tested for conversion rates? How will they perform with your traffic? All of these questions are left unanswered.

Preview

Would this convince you? Most people would just turn away.

Additionally, you don’t have any option about what you are promoting on the site – you have to promote Mega Commission Machine. Does that seem a little biased to anyone else? BTW, do you feel like your business is 100% on autopilot so far? Seem like false advertising.

The Approach As A Whole

With Mega Commissions Machine you are just creating a single-page website and somehow expecting that to convince people to sign up for a junk product with promises it can't deliver on. There is nothing unique or appealing about the page that you create and you are unlikely to actually get any sales. It's been done to death in this industry, and though it may work for some people, it's a terrible approach to online business in my opinion.

Ideally, you want your business to be something that you can grow and develop over an extended period of time. This lets you create something that can earn you a lot of money and helps you to make sure that your income isn't going to drop off next month.

Additionally, Mega Commissions Machine offers no personalized support and the training that it does offer is nowhere near enough to actually teach you how to make money online.

Final Review

Thumbs Down

Mega Commissions Machine is just a waste of time. Not only do you have to spend money to actually do anything on the site, but you end up with a so-called squeeze page that isn’t going to make money.

What Now?

Mega Commissions Machine focuses on the idea of making money quickly online through a site that takes next to no time to set up. If your goal is to make money online quickly with no work, then you are starting out with the wrong expections.

Instead, being successful at online business involves taking the time and effort to learn what you are doing and to develop something that you can grow. It also involves having personalized support, because no matter who you are, you are going to have questions along the way.

This is why I love Wealthy Affiliate so much and why I continue to recommend the service as m #1 rated product. It's an affiliate marketing training site that provides information and direction about how to make money online building legitimate affiliate websites that earn honest income.

    Hi Nathan,

Thanks for your review on Meg Commission Machine, it seems that this sort of approach of slapping up a landing page and sending untargeted traffic is popular these days.

I actually just came to check out your take on Solo Ads, since I see this on Facebook from time to time and you answered my question. They basically sound about as useless as Traffic Exchanges.

Anyways, just wanted to say thanks for the beta.

    Cheers,
    Todd

No problem Todd. The more I hear about Solo ads, I have to recognize that some people do see results with the MMO niche, but you have to be a badass copyrighter and most of the time that means sensationalizing your offers. For me, would I rather slosh in with the scammers and try to prove that I’m not only amazing but also honest, cheap, guaranteed, etc etc? No thanks. I’ll focus my effort on quality content on my blog and drive traffic to my own list via SEM.
