PIE 24/7 Review
Company Name: PIE 24/7
Costs: $10 and up every 28 days
What Is It
PIE 24/7 (Short for Personal Independent Earnings) is an entrepreneurial MLM focused on teaching users how to make money online.
Everything about the company is focused heavily on making money online, yet, the approach teaches you very little about doing so independently. Instead, you end up relying on the company and its tools, while paying them monthly. It’s a wasteful setup when you can earn money online without having to be dependent on the whims of a MLM.
The products from PIE 24/7 are directly tied to the opportunity itself. This means that few people will be interested in purchasing them unless they also want to get involved in the opportunity.
In total, the site offers ten products and five tools. These include the following:
All of these focus on different elements of making money online, as do all of the products and tools. For example, PIE Leads offers premade lead capture pages that you edit your own information into:
The problem is that most of these lead pages are likely to be very similar to one another, if not completely identical. This means that you probably couldn’t rank for them, which makes it difficult to compete online.
Each of the products has its own blurb, but they are all relatively short and don’t offer a lot of information about what you get for your money. The lead capture pages I mentioned before are a good example of this. Sometimes lead capture pages might be worth the time, but most of the time they aren’t. However, PIE doesn’t show us what they look like at all, and the information they do provide isn’t particularly informative.
Forcing people to buy your product just to find out what it actually offers is an extremely manipulative practice and suggests that the company isn’t at all reliable.
First of all, the company doesn’t actually let you purchase anything, not really. Everything is offered on a four-week plan. So, you have to pay every four weeks (28-days). This includes the individual products, and the plans that the company offers.
The key emphasis is on the plans themselves.
There are four different plans on the site. Three of these are focused on the ability to earn money. So, to be part of the opportunity, you have to pick one of these three options, ie you need to spend money to qualify to earn money!
The difference between the plans is how many tools and products they contain. The Reseller Plan doesn’t contain anything. Basically, you pay $10 every four weeks to be an affiliate for the company (most other companies don’t charge for this).
The Business Plan has roughly half of the tools and products offered in the Entrepreneur Plan. Notably, the most expensive plan is the only one that offers any type of training. So, any complete beginner would have to go with that.
However, there is no indication of whether the training teaches you what you need to know to make money or not. I would guess that a legitimate company would allow you to sample the training before you sign up so you can see if it's worth your money.
The final plan is a product only plan, which costs $40 every four weeks. This plan would be relevant for people wanting to use the tools and techniques from PIE 24/7 for promoting a different business.
Training And Independence
Learning what to do and having the right tools is important for making money online. The challenge is always figuring out what exactly these are.
One of the most important elements of good training is that it teaches you what to do, so you can go forth on your own. After all, you don’t want to have the expense of training for the life of your business. Yet, Pie 24/7 doesn’t offer much in the way of independence.
Most of the products and tools from the company are strongly tied into one another and with being an affiliate for the company. In some cases they are also shortcuts or alternative ways of doing things. For example, having a pre-made lead capture page means that you never learn how to make one for yourself. You can get tools that are not tied to any specific company like Unbounce, Optimize Press or Thrive Landing Pages.
In fact, you never even get to find out whether there are better approaches than the one the company takes. At the same time, you are paying every four weeks, and you lose access when you stop paying.
This all makes it very difficult to become independent from the company.
The opportunity for this site is essentially a more complicated version of affiliate marketing.
Basically, you earn commissions from any sales you make (including the packs and the individual products). There is also an emphasis on recruiting others, and if you can recruit enough and they can become successful, you start getting more bonuses.
The company breaks down its plan into three levels of qualification:
Getting to the first level involves joining the company (and paying the monthly fee), then getting at least 40 PSV (Personal Sales Volume) per month.
To get to the second rank, you have to recruit three people into the first tier, and they have to stay active.
The third rank involves the three people you recruit recruiting three others (each!).
This is a challenging part of the money-making model. To earn anything beyond basic commissions, you have to rely on other people being as passionate and dedicated as you. Here’s a hint – most won’t be. So, you will end up spending a lot of time trying to get other people to do what you want them to.
There are (of course) other aspects and levels of the MLM, which tend to be more complicated and involve more work. In general though, you earn commissions from the people who join under you and potentially from the ones who join under them, and so forth.
This is all theory though and most people joining the company probably won’t be all that successful.
Paying To Be An Affiliate
The opportunity from this company centers on being an affiliate for them. However, you are paying them for that privilege. This means that to make money with the company, you have to be paying at least $10 every four weeks (their lowest tier). If you want access to the tools the company offers also, you have to pay considerably more.
Most sites that offer affiliate programs don’t charge members to join them. Why would they? Affiliates make money by promoting the products or services from companies, why charge them?
The only real benefit to paying this company is the training and the tools they offer. However, there are many other places to find these. On other sites, at least you might get to know what you are buying before you pay for it.
The MLM model is a challenging way to make money. The nature of the products from Pie 24/7 makes this even more difficult. At least with other MLMs you can sell to people actually interested in the products, like makeup from Avon or supplements from Amway.
MLM VS Affiliate Marketing
The concept behind Pie 24/7 is solid. Yes, you can make money by affiliate marketing. For some people, this approach really does replace their full-time job.
But… and it’s a big but… if you start off in a company like Pie 24/7, you are hindered right from the start.
