If you listen to the reps promoting it, Liberty Health Net sounds like a typical MLM. Members boast about the commission scheme for the company and the potential to earn significant amounts of money. But… there is little evidence that the company lives up to any of these claims.
The Site Itself
Searching for Liberty Health Net online will reveal many sites that offer ‘reviews’ of the company and its opportunity. Yet, these reviews tend to be heavily biased and very unrealistic about the company.
That’s a pretty common practice. Distributors earn money from getting people to sign up for the company that they are promoting. So, they tend to push the company and its commission plan wherever possible, even though what they are promoting is rarely ever as good as they claim.
The reviews talk about a commission scheme that relies partly on sales and partly on recruiting other people into the company. For example, one approach discussed is a 4×5 matrix. This is basically just an indication of the way that you can earn commissions from the people that you recruit and further on down the line.
This actually works a little bit different than most MLMs. People that you refer are placed on the different levels in the order that you get them to join. The further you get in terms of tiers, the more you earn (although the last level seems to be an exception to this rule).
Like most MLM commission schemes, this looks great on paper and not so great in practice. After all, getting that many people in your matrix is going to be a lot more difficult than it sounds. Because of this, people tend to find themselves stuck on the early stages of a commission scheme.
Most of the reviews I’ve found online lead back to a single site. That site appears to be the primary one for the MLM, so theoretically, that’s where you’d find information about the company.
But, that’s not actually what you get.
Instead, at the address is what looks like an incredibly basic WordPress site that is promoting a single product, this one here:
The site offers no indication about the opportunity at all, and it’s hard to know whether the products promoted even have anything to do with the MLM.
The Story Behind It All
Liberty Health Network was a MLM and throughout 2011 and 2012 they were regularly posting press releases about new products. At that time, the site really seems like it was a fairly typical MLM – and the large amount of promoters it left behind highlights this fact.
Yet, at some point, something changed. There isn’t much information online about what or how, but the Wayback Machine shows that at some point in 2013, the site completely changed. For a while, it simply redirected to a different domain (which promoted the ViLisse line from above). Eventually, the domain became the website that is up there now, one that simply promotes one small product line.
It seems that at some point the company, or at least the MLM side of it went under completely. The site promoting ViLisse is still being run by Liberty Health Network, but the company isn’t very prominent with their branding.
Regardless of how all of this happened, it’s pretty clear that the company no longer offers any real way of earning money (if it ever did). There’s also a good chance that distributors for the company ended up out of pocket when things changed for the company.
That is actually one of the major risks with a MLM.
When you are part of a MLM, you are making your money from both recruitment and sales. With both of these approaches, you are replying entirely on the company. So, if anything happens to that company, you lose any long-term income potential you had.
To make matters worse, there are already a huge number of companies in the MLM space and many of them sell very similar products. This makes it pretty likely that many MLM companies simply won’t be able to compete and will go under.
MLM Versus Affiliate Marketing
Whether you choose a fantastic company or a questionable one, MLMs aren’t a particularly good approach for earning money. You get stuck within this specific compensation structure and the approaches you can take to earn money end up being very limited. While some people do earn money this way, most people simply don’t.
Affiliate marketing is different.
With affiliate marketing, you are making your own business – one that you can grow and develop as you see fit. There are so many different approaches and opportunities to take advantage of out there and with affiliate marketing you get to choose what you promote and how you promote it. You gotta start with a website though!
Whatever type of product you decide to promote, it's VITAL that you generate leads to grow your business.
But let's face it, "parties" are boring, and no one likes the annoying Facebook friend who's always promoting a biz-op.
That's why I use this lead generation system. Learn how to generate leads outside of your circle of friends and family and discover what it means to truly own your own business, rather than just be a cheerleader for one network marketing company.
