Product Name: K Money Machine
Product Owner: Jason Bracht
Advertised Price: $35 monthly
What is it?
K Money Machine is a product that teaches its members how to outsource and publish books on Amazon’s Kindle reader.
Jason Bracht’s K Money Machine course isn’t for the light-walleted. It requires a considerable investment from you, of both time and money. If you’re looking for something that can help you make money with a minimal investment you definitely won’t find it with this product.
Before You Buy
There aren’t any immediate upsells once you buy this product. However, this is one you’re asked to consider after your purchase.
Kindle Elite Academy
Once inside the members area there’s an introduction video and a few images. The first part of the video (and one of the images) is dedicated to asking you to purchase an upgraded version of K Money Machine.
This upgrade will cost you an additional $35 per month, but it comes with access to otherwise secure areas of the site. For example, on area you gain access to after purchasing the upgrade is the “News” section. Another section includes ongoing education, where Jason continues to add content on a regular basis.
I thought I was already paying $35/month, so why not include updated content there brah?
Personally, I prefer the members area of Adventures on The River. Although this course is focused on re-selling books on Amazon, there is a significant portion dedicated to creating ebooks, and the owner of the course is even taking members along as he creates a series of ebooks with sourced and original content. It's $14.95/month for a membership (and cheaper if you pre-pay).
What I Liked
There is one thing I really liked about K Money Machine…
Discounted Trial Version
One of the great things about K Money Machine is that you can get a seven day peek without paying the full cost. So instead of paying $35 right off the bat, you’re offered a trial period of seven days for seven bucks.
Buying membership products, like K Money Machine is like taking a leap of faith. You never really know what you’re going to get, until you get inside and take a look around. With more and more products switching from a one-time fee to a monthly recurring payment, the risks are even bigger.
So offering a discounted trial is a great way to eliminate some of that risk.
What I Didn't Like
There are some important things you should consider before buying this product. I’ll list the most important ones below.
LOTS of Additional Costs
One thing Jason neglects to mention in his pitch is the additional costs you will incur trying to follow his advice. In K Money Machine Jason suggests paying freelancers from places like Odesk to write your books for you, then publishing them under a pen name.
Jason suggests paying about $100 per book (about 10,000 words). You can do the math yourself and I’m sure you’ll find that this is a rate that only low quality writers would agree on.
To use the methods laid out in K Money Machine you need to have at least 10 books published. That means you need a minimum of $1,000 and that doesn’t include cover art, formatting, editing or your own personal time.
At a minimum, you’re looking at about $200 per book…and that’s a bare minimum. That puts your additional costs at $2,000!
Jason also mentions that, depending on your preferred payment method, you will wait at least sixty days to see your first payment, and the likelihood of that first payment being enough to cover expenses is non-existent. It’s a longterm strategy that requires a large upfront investment.
Outsourcing and Using Pen Names
In one of his videos, Jason talks about being invited to a television talk show to be interviewed about the topic of one of his books. Sounds awesome right? Well, unfortunately it wasn’t awesome.
Jason goes on to explain that this book, like all his other books, had been published under a pen name and written about a topic he knows nothing about. His words were, “I had to turn it down because I’m not an Indian woman and I don’t know anything about natural oils.”
So, while he is probably making some money, he’s not really building a business. What he’s doing is building someone else’s brand and business, just like he would if worked for someone else.
One thing that seems to plague almost all online products is the lack of help you receive. K Money Machine is no different. Although you get access to a members area, there’s absolutely no interaction between you and Jason, or you and any other members.
You might think that type of interaction is unnecessary but that’s not true. It can be very helpful, especially for beginners, to learn from, and engage with others who are in similar phases of their entrepreneurial journey. Like comments on a website, or reviews on Amazon’s books themselves, interaction with other members for a product like this can be invaluable.
Without proper support like live chat, phone or email support, member interaction is necessary. Unfortunately K Money Machine doesn’t offer any of those. Therefore, I find it hard to believe that anyone without a good bit of experience will benefit from the information inside.
There are plenty of ways to make money online, but I’ve always found affiliate marketing to be the easiest to understand, and the cheapest to get started in. An $11 domain is all you need to get started. You can learn how to do what I do here.
The great thing about learning affiliate marketing is that you need to learn some SEO, and how to build a website. With that knowledge, you can learn how to promote your own books if you do decide to write them in the future. You can also practice your writing skills on a blog, or management skills if you decide to hire writers.
If that's still not your thing, you should definitely check out ZeroFatz's course on creating ebooks. He's easy to get in contact with via email or in the members area of his website and you can see the writing process LIVE as he updates us every month.
