Product name: IM Starter Pack
Product owner: Partners To Success
Advertised price: $9.95
What is it
IM Starter pack is a collection of six different products, from six different marketers designed to teach internet marketing to beginners. Some products are ebooks, others are videos. All of them are worthless.
IM Starter Pack is nothing more than six washed up marketers cleaning out their closets of old junk products that aren’t relevant anymore. It’s old garbage with outdated, generalized information.
Before you buy
After you've made your initial purchase, the “Partners to Success” have put together several more products which they've crammed into two separate upsells. How nice of them, pfft!
For an additional $129 you can have access to an upgraded version of the products from the original six pack. You’ll also be accepted as part of their FaceBook group. This is odd to me because I was under the assumption the six products in IM Start Pack was everything I would need to make money online.
Apparently I was wrong. This “Upgraded version” of those products is really what I needed. Yeah Right, I’ll pass!
If you turned down the first upsell, and I don’t know why you wouldn’t, you still have one more chance to buy more crap. Only this time you can drop the FaceBook and spend $99, instead of the $129. Can you guess what I chose?
What I liked
With most products I review I find at least one or two things I like. Sometimes it takes a little digging but I find something. With IM starter Pack, I found nothing. There isn’t one good thing about this product.
Let’s move on…
What I didn’t like
This product comes with so many other products crammed into it that it’s hard to keep track of what’s what. There’s different names on each product and each product leads to a different website with even more products. IM Starter Pack is one of those things that, I’m sure sounded good when the six marketers were discussing it.
“Hey, I know! Let’s all take our products, put them together and sell it as a kit.”
Unfortunately, this whole thing was executed terribly. If they wanted to make a ‘starter pack’ by combining each others products there’s better ways they could’ve done it. Here are just a few of the problems with the method they chose.
Instead of combining the products, they should’ve combined their knowledge and made an entirely new product. There’s too many different formats in IM Starter pack. Some of the products are ebooks, some are video and a couple are in a members area.
This is the type of inconsistency that makes it difficult on the buyer. When you buy a product like this you expect it to be in one, easy-to-follow format. This was the lazy way of combining products and it proves they don’t care about the people who buy from them.
IM Starter Pack is made up of six different products. Each one of them requires a new login and password, which puts you on another mailing list. So not only are you on the mailing list for IM Starter Pack, you’ll be on six others.
Who knows how often each list gets mailed to but I would bet it’s a lot. Even if it’s once a week – that’s six more messages cramming your inbox that shouldn't be there. I did not appreciate each marketer trying to sucker buyers into signing up for multiple lists.
Not only is this terrible marketing, it goes against everything that’s being taught online nowadays.
Each one of the products offered as part of the “six pack” is full of information that is no longer relevant online. If you buy IM starter Pack and follow the advice you’ll be marketing with methods that are almost a decade old.
The web evolves quickly. Think about how often a new version of your phone comes out. Most of the information in this product was created before smart phones were mainstream. It’s an entirely different world now online.
The support that comes along with this product is laughable. It’s email only support which means answers are delayed by at least 24 hours. With six marketers involved in this product, it seems like one of them would have stepped up and mentioned the need for better support.
On the support page they mention to allow 24-48 hours for a response. I sent a support ticket, not expecting much, and got a reply within about 32 hours. I figured I would never hear from them, so they exceeded my very low expectations here.
Still, when you're growing a business online, having a problem that lasts for 32 straight hours can have damaging results. Support is key online and those who function without do not grow.
The biggest problem I have with Im Starter Pack was the overall lack of respect. It’s obvious this product was thrown together without one thought being given for the user (you). IM Starter Pack was a half cocked attempt at making a little more money from old stagnant products these marketers had laying around on their hard drive.
I feel like the whole thing is a slap in the face. It’s as if they thought no one would notice that they would be brutally spammed, lied to and given irrelevant information.
Look around the web, you’ll notice people using marketing methods like the ones taught in this product are being pushed out. People no longer care for companies, marketers or even big brands that don’t care for them.
Marketing online in 2014 and beyond is all about trust, user experience and quality. You can’t learn how to build an online business from people who have no concern for those three things. When you’re ready to build your own business online you need information that is current, relevant and honest.
I built my business on all the factors above because I was taught from a community of friends that cared about my success. You can read more about that community here if you like. Most importantly though, they provided 24 hour live support, honest feedback and training that is second to none.
When you’re ready to build a real business online, I’d recommend starting there. On top of the support and training, you get two websites, access to me and all the other members for advice and help with the training.
