Fresh + Coffee Oct 24, 2013: Content Curation, The Almighty Google, Strategies for Making Sales
I'm finally getting around to posting our hangout on air from last week. This is the Fresh + Coffee from October 24th, and there are a few issues with this episode. One, we were late getting started. Two, there's a bit of feedback from Chris's new mic. Still, the content we spoke about was very useful, especially the curation bit.
I know a lot of people think that content curation is “easier” than writing your own content, but it most definitely isn't. Strategies for making sales was also a useful thing to know, because not all sales are made after someone lands on your page and before they leave it. There are multiple strategies for turning your visitors into customers, and not all involve a “strike while the iron's hot” approach. Learn some ways to make stronger sales down the road with brand loyalty!
Fresh + Coffee Oct 24, 2013: Hotseat Website Review, Pay it Forward with Social
This one is from last week. This was an amazing episode of Fresh + Coffee with Chris & myself where we invited Larry Peacock to share his site with the community and our viewers. The website URL is http://www.newmilitarybenefits.com/ and if you watch the video below Larry will introduce what the sites about and what he's trying to do with new company. Chris and I have him pointers on what he could do to improve user experience, get affiliated with relevant companies, and some directions he can take the site in the future.
Though the tips are specific to Larry's website, any newbie can definitely learn from some from some of his “mistakes” and successes. Learning from your peers is a great way to improve your own website and business. Later in the episode we laid out some ideas about why it's very important to take action in social media.
If you wait for others to share your content before you return in kind, you might be waiting for a long time! +1, like, share, recommend, comment, and add value to the people in your favorite online communities. In time, you will see significant results for your own site. It really works, I've seen it done.
