In the world of internet marketing, there is something you need to understand.
People get paid, otherwise they wouldn't be doing internet marketing. The truth is that no matter how hard you look for free stuff online, the price is probably going to reflect the value, so free stuff is going to be outdated, 2nd hand, stolen, copied, or just plain junk.
I've seen quite a few ‘free guides' over the years, and most were not worth anything, which is why they were free.
Don't get me wrong, there are some free internet marketing course materials that are worth money…
You can be sure that there's going to be an upsell in there somewhere.
These free guides, tutorials, or teasers are meant to get you interested, and then the real good stuff is going to require a fee, either one time, or recurring.
That's just the nature of the game, and you know what they say about players and games, right?
But, with your goggles of skepticism on, it is possible to suck the value out of these freebies, as long as you are able to resist the temptation to buy down the road.
Be Skeptical, But Look For Value
That's not to say that all upsells are bad ones!
Honestly, everyone is such a skeptic these days, that you simply can't charge anything for a product without giving the customer an ‘inside look', or a ‘preview' of what's to come.
Would you buy anything without seeing it first?
There ARE legitimate internet marketing courses out there. The hard part is going to be finding them amongst all the spam, scams, and gurus.
How can you tell a scam from something valuable?
It's difficult, and although I thought about it, I don't have a good answer for you. Maybe ‘gut-feeling' is the right answer.
One of the reasons I like Wealthy Affiliate is that it is a community, not a product. You can actually talk to REAL members, and spend some time on the site before buying anything at all.
There are no hard upsells, no pressure to upgrade, no ‘time limits' or 1-Time-Offers. There is a premium membership option I'll discuss below, but the decision to join premium is totally up to you, depending on your level of commitment to your online business.
