Survey sites are always a popular way of earning money, largely because you don’t need any skills or experience to get going. In this review, I’m focusing on Crowdology, which is popular in some circles. So, how does this survey site stand out and can you actually make money from it?
Crowdology looks enticing, because the company pays out in money (via PayPal) and offers a fairly low payment threshold. This means that members can cash out every time they earn $8. You can actually cash out at any figure over $8 too, so you don’t have to reach specific thresholds.
That’s pretty nice and it’s a better cash out system than most similar sites. More than anything, this approach gives you the chance to figure out Crowdology early on and find out whether you face any issues with cashing out. So, if anything goes wrong at least you haven’t lost much time.
The site also tends to credit your reviews pretty fast, so you have some idea of how well you are doing right from the start. These things do mean that theoretically you could make money from the site, and many members actually do.
As with all survey sites, I’m not disputing that you can make money this way. I have no doubt you can. But, the question is whether the amount of money you make is worth the time you have to spend to make it.
To find that out, we’re going to look a bit deeper at the site and what it offers.
About Online Surveys
Unlike many other similar sites, Crowdology focuses almost exclusively on surveys. That’s kind of a refreshing approach, but it does also have its challenges. In particular, this means that you have to rely on getting new surveys to be able to earn money.
Often you will find that you get a number of surveys quite fast when you first join a survey site, but after that their frequency tends to decrease significantly. In many cases, surveys can take days or even weeks to arrive, which doesn’t help your potential to earn money.
You can earn between $0.40 and $10 for a single survey from the site, and they might take a few minutes to 15 minutes, depending on who you are and what the survey is. If you consistently got paid towards the high end of that scale, the site might be okay for making money – but survey sites never work like that.
Instead, you will tend to earn little for surveys, with surveys often earning you less than a dollar.
Reviews for the site tend to be mixed. For example, on Survey Police the site scores just over three starts, from 33 different reviews. So, while some people seem to be happy with the site, others certainly aren’t.
In their reviews, some people mentioned the lack of surveys that the site offers, while others noted that it was difficult to qualify for surveys.
This is one of the major challenges of any survey site. To be able to do a survey, you have to first qualify for it. Doing so typically involves answering a short survey to determine your eligibility. This can become a frustrating experience, because people often find that they aren’t eligible for many of the surveys on a given site.
Because you only earn money for surveys that you qualify for, you can end up wasting a lot of time getting nowhere. To make matters worse, you probably aren’t getting that many surveys from the site anyway. Getting screened out of some of these surveys lowers your potential to earn money even more.
Some of the reviewers on Survey Police noted that they got around 6 surveys a month, while others reported less than that.
As you can imagine, this means that it would take some time for your credit to get to the point where you could cash out. So, as a money earning venture, Crowdology isn’t a particularly good one. It might be worth signing up for just to earn a little bit here and there, but that’s about it.
Making REAL Money Online
Survey sites tend to be popular because they are easy and don't involve much brain power. For the most part that’s true, but survey sites are also very slow ways of earning money. That means they’re a horrible approach if you’re actually trying to earn a living or if you want some help paying your bills.
That’s not true of all ways of making money online though!
There are actually some very powerful ways of making money online and some people even turn their online business into their sole source of income. One of the best options for beginners is affiliate marketing, which you can pick up regardless of your experience.
I started my affiliate marketing business in 2010 and was able to quit my job and work from home by 2012. No, fast or easy money that will pay your bills next month. However, it is a real way to generate a full time income. If you are ready to learn some new skills and take the next step to earning online income, I recommend you join the same affiliate training center I did to learn how to build an online business.
