Product Name: Commission Coverup
Product Owner: Alan Magliocca
Advertised Price: $50
What Is It
Commission Coverup is a video training course and software that’s supposed to teach you how to build profitable websites using a “Hidden Technique”.
Commission Coverup is the most offensive piece of crap course I’ve ever reviewed. The software that comes with the course no longer works. The course itself is 3 to 4 years old (that’s like 15 internet years). It teaches bad strategies that will get your website banned from google. And there's no support.
Before You Buy
There was some confusion about who actually created this product. It is promoted by a guy named Ryan Ramsay. However, I was unable to find any evidence that Ryan Ramsay even exists.
After some digging I realized Alan Magliocca is the creator. And this “Ryan Ramsay” guy, is the face of the product. I reviewed several of Alan's products before. Maybe Alan hired Ryan. Maybe Alan is Ryan. I'm not 100% sure either way.
All I know is the confusion made me uncomfortable and less trusting.
There are no immediate upsells after you purchase the product. However, once you’re inside the training area you will be asked to purchase your website and hosting through them. Normally a website costs about $10 and hosting costs about the same.
But if you purchase these things through Commission Coverup you’ll be asked to pay much more than that. The image below shows the price for one website.
To use the methods taught in this course, they say you will need at least 3 to 5 websites.
Get it Cheaper
I noticed I was able to get the price down from $50 to $9, just by trying to exit the page. I don’t recommend you buy this course but if you do, try closing the page to get a better price.
The first time I tried to exit I was offered a 50% discount. The next time dropped it all the way down to nine bucks.
That would be a great deal if this product was worth having.
What I Liked
The one thing I liked about this product was the videos. I felt like they were done pretty well. And it’s always better to have video courses than having to read tons of ebooks or articles.
What I Didn’t Like
If you read the “Short Review” above, you can probably tell there’s a lot about Commission Coverup I don’t like. Now let me explain why.
I can honestly say this is the first time I’ve been called poor and a loser when considering buying a product online. That’s right, this guy actually calls his potential customers losers, then boasts about his wealth and overall ‘awesomeness’.
The sales page is full of the typical guru stuff like pictures of big-boats, big houses and exotic cars. Okay, fine. We’re all used to seeing stuff like that. No one believes it, but we’re used to it.
However, stuff like you see below is uncalled for. I’m not easily offended, but this really irked me.
It’s not uncommon these days to see a sales page that challenges you in some way — maybe calling you a chicken if you don’t take the free trial, or something like that — But to offend the people who are buying from you is an entirely different thing.
Downloads Don’t Work
In addition to the training videos that make up the course, you’re also supposed to get some software. The software is supposed to help you find “good markets” and “free content” for your websites.
There’s three pieces of software all together. You’re supposed to download them all from the members area.
Unfortunately, none of the download links work. There are numerous complaints about this problem in the comments section. Some of them date back three years.
This tells me that no one cares about this product. And with unanswered complaints from three years ago, they probably never did.
One of the downloads that didn’t work is a piece of software that helps you find content for your website.
It’s called a “Bot” and it crawls the web to find and copy articles, blog posts and other content. The bot then publishes the content on your website. Sounds great right!
Well, actually it’s not. That’s one of the worst things you can do.
First of all, that’s stealing. That content belongs to the person who wrote it, unless it was sold to someone else.
Secondly, having the same content on your website that someone else has on theirs is called “duplicate content”. Duplicate content on your site will cause your site to be banned from all the search engines like Google Yahoo and Bing.
If your website doesn’t show up in search results then your chances of making money are practically zero.
Commission Coverup has an obvious major lack of support. For that reason alone, I would recommend avoiding this product. If they don’t respond to simple issues in their own comments section, they definitely won’t be present when you need help.
Support is necessary when you’re building a business, especially one online.
