Product Name: CashTasks
Product Owner: Unknown
What is it?
A website that offers payment based on the completion of offers, including watching videos, viewing advertisements and doing tasks online.
Unlike most similar sites, CashTasks has a minimum payout of $1,000 and I suspect that most people never make it to that value. Not only is CashTasks an extremely ineffective approach to earning money, it is also a very tedious one. You aren’t even guaranteed that you will get your money if you earn it.
Before You Buy
Be careful with this type of site, particularly if you are considering buying anything off it. Sites like this frequently don’t keep their promises and you may end up getting nothing for all of your hard work. There are many other just like it, including Cash Crate and Inbox Dollars. The premise is the same, and the results are similar – tons of work, with little results to show.
What I Liked
I did like that the site made it clear when adverts reset and honestly, I though the mascot was kind of cute. However, the site itself majorly bothers me, and I find it very misleading.
What I Didn’t Like
Most of the time, survey sites are misleading, and CashTasks is no exception. The implication is that you can make a lot of money through the service, yet I reality the site doesn’t work like that. Even legit survey places like Panda Research try very hard to make it seem like you can earn a lot, even through most people make less than minimum wage doing online surveys.
You can see this just by reading the terms and conditions as well as other areas on the site. One aspect of this that really stood out to me was the idea that you can withdraw your earnings once your account reaches $1,000.
That’s a completely absurd figure. It means that you would have to spend weeks or months doing the offers on the site and hope that you actually get paid out. This also means that if you only get part way towards that $1,000 mark, then you were working for free – as you won’t see a dime.
To make matters worse, the site has a pretty strict policy in terms of how regularly you use the site. Users have to log on at least once every five days, or all of their earnings are wiped. That’s pretty rough really, especially if you had put a lot of time into the site. It’s also unrealistic. Sometimes life gets in the way and you can’t get online for a while.
Actually Making Money
CashTasks offers different ways of making money from their site. Each of these approaches works a little differently, but honestly, I wasn’t impressed by any of them.
The offers section is what you often see on survey sites. Completing offers earns a specific form of currency that isn’t used elsewhere on the site. In fact, the offers section appears to go through a different company entirely.
There is also little indication of how making money from the offers actually works and any help link just goes to the Playerize site, which really doesn’t provide much help. This means that there is no indication of how long currency stays pending or what the conversion ratio is between this currency and real money. I’d like to think it is 1:1, but my previous experience with sites like this suggests that this is probably not the case.
As you might suspect, the offers that don’t cost any money offer very low levels of rewards, while the ones that require a purchase offer much more rewards.
In reality, this means that anyone who is earning significant amounts of money through the site is probably paying to do so. That doesn’t sound like a particularly good money making strategy to me.
The Spin the Wheel thing is a bit weird. I did ‘win’ $5 through it from my 10 spins, but I don’t think that really means a lot. It is mostly a gimmick, because it tries to get people to buy more spins or to upgrade to premium (which costs). So, you can easily end up spending money instead of making it.
The videos aspect of the site is one that most people find appealing. You earn $1 per video, but you have to watch it to the end. There aren’t a lot of videos to choose from, and they tend to be around three to five minutes long.
This is actually a very tedious way of making money and most of the videos that you see aren’t even that interesting. Because there are so few videos up there, you can’t earn much money this way anyway.
The Paid to Click section isn’t really accurate. For example, the very first one I tried required me to sign up to a survey taking site – which is not something I particularly wanted to do.
Once I did that there was absolutely no indication of whether I had earned any credit or what I needed to do to earn credit. The next step of the site that I had been sent to required paying to join, so I didn’t do that.
In fact, I never did get any credit for clicking the ad, and the page continued to display that particular ad without offering me the chance to see others.
So it was just another dead end.
The final option on the site is referrals. Here, you get 10% (or 20% if you are a paid member) of how much the people you refer earn. Because of how difficult it is to actually earn money through CashTasks, this approach is nowhere near as good as it seems.
Oddly, you can buy referrals from the store on the site. While CashTasks guarantees that the referrals you get will be active, there is no guarantee that the users will be successful at making money.
Realistically, sites like this simply don’t work.
There are many different variations of them out there, from sites that focus on surveys to sites that emphasize offers. Regardless, actually making money from these sites takes much more time than it seems, and is also very tedious.
You are also completely reliant on the rules and restrictions of the website – rules that they may change at any time. In fact, the site has the ability to decide you are acting fraudulently in some way (regardless of whether you are or not). If they do decide this, you may lose any money you have accumulated on the site.
If you are looking for a tedious and time-consuming way to make money CashTasks might be for you. However, even then there is no guarantee that you will ever make it up to $1,000 or that the company will actually pay out what it owes you.
If you want to make money consistently, being reliant on a company is a bad way to start. Instead, a much more effective approach is to develop your own online business.
This becomes something that you can continue to develop and grow over time, regardless of how much the online environment changes or how your own life changes. With this approach, it’s possible to turn online work into a full-time income. I first learned how to do this through a training site that I highly recommend and it has since become my entire business and how I pay all of my bills.
