AutoResponder Madness Review
What Is It?
This is a complete course on creating an effective email marketing campaign. Andre Chaperon, one of the most (if not THE most) respected email marketing guru outlines some of the exact techniques and campaigns he has used over the years to demonstrate some very effective bigger picture concepts.
Most of the course is written, but there are some accompanying videos. None of the instruction is video format, but there are “extras” to emphasize certain points that Andre is making.
ARM is ideal for someone that has a product, has a large list, or wants to begin their online marketing journey focusing on list building and email marketing.
Short Review:
This is THE definitive course on email marketing, and worth the gigantic price tag. However, I have several complains about the course which I cannot ignore, #1 being the unbelievably annoying style which it was written in.

Before You Buy:
This product was recommended to me by a friend as the one course that changed his entire outlook on how he wrote content for his site. That's a pretty big statement to make for a successful internet marketer (he is very successful), so I purchased it without even reading the sales page or knowing what was inside. I guess that's the power of a trusted person recommending a product to you!
I just checked, and the sales page is pretty mild compared to other products, but it does have a slight “guru” feel to it, with lots of name dropping, and verbal garbage about how awesome the product is. It's a bit of a turnoff, I know, but as mentioned above, the end product is worth the cost. Three hundred bucks is not a cheap price, but when you get serious into internet marketing, that's the price of high quality info from the pros.
It's just another expense, and if you are running a lucrative business, you can do $300 in a day. If you actually get a decent email marketing campaign set up, $300 is a drop in the bucket. But let's start to look at what they actually offer inside the members area. I have some conflicting opinions on this product, so keep reading to find out if it's for you.
What I liked:
The main thing you need to understand is that the IDEAS contained within Autoresponder Madness unique, valuable, and they just plain work. Andre obviously knows what he is talking about, and I will definitely implement some of the strategies he covers in ARM.
Highlights from the product include:
- Creating a customer avatar (personal profile of your target customer)
- SOS (Soap Opera Sequence or story telling to hook customers)
- PLS (Product Launch Sequence for selling one-off products)
- Lots of insights into how a customer thinks
- Actual campaigns that Andre or his buddies have run
The one major takeaway I gained from ARM was list segmentation, which I didn't even know was possible. With a product like Aweber Pro Tools you can actually divide your list into groups to create highly targeted lists. This means you can promote hyper-targeted products to people that actually want them instead of just blasting out general offers and hoping that your list wants what you're selling.
The sheer volume of content that is provided is enough to keep you busy reading for weeks, and like me, you will probably have to read it again to actually be able to take action on it. There are lists of things to do after each lesson, so it's also an interactive course (if you follow the instructions).
I know that as such a highly rated product I should probably have a longer list of things that I like about it, but those concepts discussed above are pretty huge. They are discussed at length within ARM, and you are given plenty of real-world examples of how they could fit into your campaign.
So really, the #1 thing I liked is that I didn't regret spending $300.
What I didn't Like:
Unfortunately, there's plenty to not like about it as well. In fact, if the information hadn't been as useful and interesting as I found it, I probably would have hated ARM.
My #1 complaint about Andre Chaperon's Autoresponder Madness is the style it was written in. Basically, he has copied and pasted an email marketing campaign into a “members area”, put in a couple of random vids, some cheap graphics, and called it a product.
There were probably tens of thousands of words of content in there. Normally that would be awesome. But they are all in the form of a guru-style email marketing campaign. Imagine that you were force 50 emails from a pushy email marketer. I actually had to take a two week break because it was pissing me off so much to read stuff like:
This was the ONE technique that made me $50,000 in one week!
It was super awesome.
It was a game-changer.
And it was so amazing because no one had done it before.
Did you know that bla bla bla bla?
Yeah, I was shocked as well.
I couldn't believe my eyes.
And do you know what this bla bla bla guru said?
All he did was change a few words and, oh snap. So much money!
[insert hook here]
– Andre “I Can't Write Paragraphs” Chaperon

Here's an excerpt from one of the beginning lessons. The ENTIRE COURSE is written like this.
I totally understand that there need to be some examples of how to write a proper email, and a part of effective email marketing is writing in short bursts to keep people interested. Exaggerating, or having hooks is just part of the game.
But I paid for a course, not a series of 50 emails pasted on a web page.
Videos were another huge problem for me. Some of the videos were only tangentially relevant to the content. Many were low quality. The point were I said to myself, “WTF did I buy”, was when I watched a home-made video of a few teenagers doing some improv skits. It just didn't make sense.
The video player had a very odd functionality where I had to click it once to activate it, I couldn't change the size, and the videos were HUGE, but in super low-quality format (grainy). Most of them were excerpts from other people's speeches or videos, and NOT made by Andre Chaperon himself. The course could have been totally fine without the vids, and I feel like they were just used to “upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0”.
The last thing I want to nitpick is that for a $300 product, I would have expected a better effort to edit ARM. I found numerous spelling errors and erroneously stylized text. It's not a big deal, and I'm guilty of the very same mistakes. But my blog is free, and ARM 3.0 is $300.
Final Review
Autoresponder Madness still scores extremely high in my books, and I have no doubt that I will be able to use the knowledge from it to make back my $300 is a single email blast (or SOS) if I actually implement what was taught. There were a few things that annoyed me about the product, but at the end of the day, I'm happy with it and recommend it.
This is not a course for a newbie looking to get started online, but for someone that wants to get serious about making more money, start building a list or monetize an existing list, or is looking to learn more about email marketing you can't afford to NOT get this product.

Thanks for this amazing review. I had one question and one review request.
1.) The type of business model that I’m planning on is a residual recurring income model where I sell monthly subscription high value newsletters for $5/month. My website will be one-page/squeeze-page model to which I’ll drive traffic and get subscriptions. Do you think my model is a lot email based and this program will help me? How?
2.) I also wanted to request you to review a product called ‘The Passive print system’ – it teaches A to Z the above mentioned business model and seems to have helped a lot of people. I know you must be busy but do give it a try to give an excellent and honest review like other programs.
Thanks! ๐
$5 for a monthly newsletter is not very much, and I know a guy that does the exact same thing successfully. It’s called “micro continuity”. It works because it’s such a small commitment and you provide good value, that you can stack up recurring income quite well.
I haven’t heard of the passive print system, but I’ll add it to my list of things to review!
Good day Nat, this is Samuel from singapore, I have crossed paths with your website several times and received e newsletters on my inbox several times before but I am still looking for legitimate ways to make not just decent money but big money.
Something like US$6000/month is considered good for me for a start, but a five figure monthly income $10,000 and above using the applications of money making methods you have taught would also be a welcome surprise for many people.
You see, I am trying to use wealthy affiliate which has made yourself considerable amounts of moola to retire, but I am not sure whether is there a much much faster way which you have reviewed and recommended whereby money generation is much quicker and sustainable instead of compromising on returns in return for getting something legitimate.
In other words,I want the best of both sustainability, low maintenance online work, and high income. Is there any way possible for me to drastically shortcut the learning curve and start covering the cost of operating an online money generating software’s maintenance cost, then having purely profits from my online venture trickling in every month without fail? What would your suggestions be?
Sorry man, what you are asking for is fast, easy money. It’s just not going to happen. I’d love to give you a longer response, but until you get your head around the idea that there isn’t a ‘secret’ that people aren’t telling you, I can’t do much for you.
Sorry I forgotten to add that I got the inspiration from the review of autoresponder madness where I can see its ease of use and complete transparency that this is possibly the best system to use in the internet marketing field right now. I have seen really positive reviews not only from your site but from warriors forum and other places. I am not actually looking for fast and easy money without putting in any effort. I sure need to put in effort to get things going-like applying what is being taught for a few months before actual results come in,expand in volume and grow over time.
But rather I need to have a software that evidently works without a reasonable doubt and have already put money into people’s pockets, definitely not a scam and is reliable and trustworthy enough to stand the test of time and workable.
I know of friends from Singapore who have tried dropshipping like DS domination and within 4 months of some work, not exactly hard work I would say, just copy and pasting, they got around $3000 coming in pretty much regularly month after month, after their start date, they are just university students.
I am very willing to see what you have to say in your longer response, please do not hold back your genuine feedback on which program is the best for beginners because as long as there is money to be made, I am willing to go the extra mile.
I have gotten my head around the idea that there isnt a secret that people aren’t telling me, but is it because there really are no secrets available? or is it because they are just unwilling to share?
Nevertheless,I would love to hear from you, the willingness to embrace multiple perspectives would help me.
Thank you very much.
I disagree that DS Domination is a legit product. Most products I think are completely useless for newbies because they don’t provide support. I have quite a few links that show my #1 recommendation – it should be easy to find.
The #1 issue people face is that they are looking for a “software” or “system” to make money. THERE IS NONE. Money is made when people buy something from you. They will only buy something (and be happy with it) if you provide them with enough information to make educated purchases. This is why I use a blog and content to make sales through affiliate marketing.
That’s all I do.
99% of what’s being done out there is selling info products that scam people. BUY MY PRODUCT! IT WILL MAKE YOU RICH! LIMITED TIME ONLY! You’ve seen that stuff. And a lot of times, the ‘systems’ they promote, basically tell you to do the same thing: Collect email addresses, sell, sell, sell. Get a link and spam it on Facebook. I hate that type of stuff.
I create simple websites about topics that interest me, and promote physical/digital products related to the topic. This is what I teach other people to do.
Hey Nathaniell, love the no-nonsense approach you’ve got going here.
I also found the writing style of ARM to be very annoying, but at times it intrigued me. Like when he first described open loops, and I immediately recalled that he had already been doing that very thing in previous sections (he later pointed this out point-blank for people that didn’t pick up on it).
It’s a clever way of teaching by example. As he introduces new concepts you realize that those very techniques have already been peppered throughout the course. Reading a 20,000 word sales letter is a pretty good way to learn to write sales letters. You really get immersed in the style, even if it is annoying to take in large doses.
Totally agree Thomas – the info was legit, and I learned a lot. I will probably take the course again at some point. The guy is obviously good at what he does. I’m not sure I want to model my own courses exactly like this because of the annoyance factor, but I may be sensitive to this because I’ve been around this industry for a while. For a newbie, it might be intriguing.
Regarding Andre’s writing style… I kinda liked it…
Often you buy a product based on the hype around a salespage. Then, when you’re in the product, the hype is gone. Often that’s because the person who wrote the salespage and the person who wrote the product are 2 different people.
The downside is that there’s no hype to sort of “guide” you in the direction of the AWESOME, groundbreaking things you should be paying attention to.
So the fact that Andre “sells” during his course is, I think, invaluable.
That said, the version I’m on (I think it’s ARM 3.0) has Anita’s overviews and these are a GREAT way to review the content without the sales-talk.
If it wasn’t for that, I’d probably summarise each section myself as, for review purposes, the salespage style is less useful.
Anyhow, nice review ๐
Fair enough ๐ I can appreciate that others might enjoy this style, and you are right that Anita’s additions were a different style than Andre’s. But after being on the mailing list of Mindvalley Insights it’s become clear that some of the themes seen in ARM are seen throughout the company, and their marketing style is not my cup of tea.
Thanks for taking the time to share your opinion Norio!
Yes I have to agree with you, the style is pretty annoying. He could I have made a ‘product’ with less fluff and right to the point.
I was just thinking the whole time, “I paid a few hundred bucks for this, I don’t need to be sold to anymore.”
Nice review. As someone who also read ARM (And loved it), I’d like to address a few of your issues with it.
1.) ARM was always an email course. That’s why it is written as an email course. When he switched from Clickbank to Mindvalley, Andre wasn’t going to change the entire format just to suit the new layout. Afterall, it was working fine already.
2.) It was $400+ before, so you are actually getting the same course for less.
3.) Andre’s writing style was one of the things I loved the most!
4.) The videos were always included in the original email course as well, they aren’t an upgrade from 2.0 to 3.0. He didn’t just slap some content onto a members area and call it a product..he changed an already existing product to be “On Demand” instead of “Via your inbox over a month”, which personally, suits me fine.
With that in mind, I can’t see any negatives apart from some of the videos’ quality.
Go buy it.
Thanks for the comment Dom. I’m surprised that you enjoyed the writing style, so I guess my annoyance is just a personal preference. It’s quite popular among the internet marketing community, so I guess other people have been able to move past it. As mentioned, I’ll have to read it again because I feel like there was maybe something I didn’t quite get – the missing puzzle piece that would make me think it’s amazing. Anyway, it sounds like you are very happy with your purchase!
Yep and already seeing improved results across the board as a result ๐ It’s almost paid for itself already.
