What’s up everyone, my name’s Nathaniell, and I’m the guy who started One More Cup of Coffee. I teach people how to make money from blogging. I’ve been doing this successfully for more than 10 years now, and honestly, it’s a lot easier than you think. I can definitely show you how to do what I do, and how to design a pretty awesome lifestyle for yourself.
For me, being in this business isn’t about getting rich. It’s about having time to do the stuff I really want to do, like fix up my house, make beer on the weekends, and spend time with my family. In fact, the name One More Cup of Coffee came from the days when I worked a real job and hated having to rush out the door every morning.
All I wanted is a little bit of extra time in the morning for a second cup of coffee.
Well, that dream came true, and I can show you exactly how I did it and how you can repeat the same process for yourself.
I wasn’t always an internet marketer; in fact, I’ve done quite a few different jobs over the years.
Internet marketing was just the career path that ‘clicked’ for me, mostly because I could do it from the comfort of my own home and according to my own schedule.
But let’s start a bit further back; if you’re going to get to know me, you should know a bit about where I’m from and what I’ve done.
People always ask me…
They say, “Well, you got started in 2010. Did I miss the gravy train? I’m sure there’s too much competition now, so I’d never stand a chance!”
But the funny thing is that it’s easier than ever to make money online. Why? There’s two simple reasons:
- More products are being sold online now. People are shifting more and more of their shopping habits to the online world and that just wasn’t the case even 5-10 years ago. Even small businesses and grocery stores are selling their products on the internet!
- There are more tools to make starting your business easier. Before, you had to code everything in HTML and be internet savvy. Now, there’s tools to automate everything. Thousands of people have made the journey before, and you can use their wisdom to make your path easier.
It’s kind of like traveling. In the past, you had to take a ship and spend weeks on the ocean to reach far-off places. Once there, you had to make your own adventure!
Now, You can reach any destination in the world within 24 hours. There’s a guidebook for every country in every language, and there are smartphone apps for instant translation to your native language.
Nowadays, it’s easier than ever to get started making money online because there are so many more resources available to you, and you can just “follow the guidebook” to get where you need to go (owning a money-generating website).
So, back to the story of how I got started…
I grew up in California, but left soon after graduating high school to travel in Europe. I was completely bored in the US and wanted to see the world. At the time, I had a friend living in Prague, so used her house as my “home base” between trips. When I needed money, I freelanced as an English teacher.
Eventually I landed a pretty sweet job as a kindergarten teacher, so I was officially getting paid to play duck-duck-goose and hide-and-seek for a few hours a day.
After a few years doing that, I broadened my horizons and set my sights on China. I wanted to learn Mandarin and start the next chapter in my travels.
China was wild. I made tons of friends, traveled all over the country, and became fluent in Mandarin.
But after being in China for a while, I began thinking about my future. It had been ten years since I left the US. I was having a blast traveling, but I had no job security and saving any money very difficult working for low wages.
So I hatched a crazy plan to make US dollars while working in China. I wanted to start an internet based business so that I could work on my computer in China but earn US money. Even just $30 per day was basically a full time income in China.
It took me about six months of fumbling around: browsing around different sites, joining tons of mailing lists, watching hours of promotional videos, and following my share of purported “gurus” before I came across Wealthy Affiliate.
They were the legit online training center I was looking for. After three months of training I had made my first sale through my website. Six months after that I was generating regular sales. After a total of eighteen months working on my website I was earning over $10,000 per month so I quit my job in China and bought plane ticket back to the USA.
Thanks to my affiliate websites, by 2013 I owned my own home, a brand new truck, and a motorcycle! As of 2021, I’m married with a son, and still working from home “full time” (about 3 hours a day).
Personally, I’m kind of done with traveling for now and enjoy being a homebody. I like tinkering with my house and going on walks with my wife. It’s a simple life. No Lamborghini’s and no private islands, but I have a family and a couple hobbies, and I’m good with that.
One More Cup of Coffee is about helping you craft your own version of the perfect life. Where do you see yourself next year? What about 10 years down the road?
The cool thing about starting an affiliate blog is that you can take your business anywhere in the world and work at any hour of the day, any days of the week. You don’t need any qualifications or prerequisites to learn. No degree required! You can learn everything online, and learn at your own pace.
Making money from your blog is pretty simple, but it takes a lot of work. Don’t expect this to be a get-rich-quick thing. If you’re ready to put in the hours consistently over the next year or two, I’m ready to share my knowledge with you and help you start earning money on the internet, through your own blog.
- You pick the topic
- You pick the products
- You write the content
- You reap the rewards

LIndsey
Hello Nathaniell!! My name is Lindsey and I just joined WA. I love it there! I’ve learned more in a week there than I did in the 6 months prior watching YouTube videos to try and figure out what affiliate marketing even was! They do a lot to get people excited, but aren’t very informative! Anyway, I am having trouble pinning down a niche. I wanted to do a blog type website on “hearing from God.” It would be prophetic words that God is speaking to the body of Christ and how to teach people to hear from God. I was thinking it would be cool to have it be centered around quiet time with God and that I could include links to creating the perfect spot to spend time with the King of Kings. I could include links to furniture, decorations, lighting, and books (that I could write reviews on). I ran the idea by my coach and he isn’t sure it would be profitable, but I also asked the question to the community and a lot of people have said it’s a good idea. Obviously, listening to my coach is wise because he has had success at affiliate marketing, but so have some of the others who have commented. I was wondering your honest opinion because I believe this meets all of the criteria of 1) passion 2)something to continually write about and 3)income. I just really liked the idea and think it’s unique. Also, I did a google search a people look up “how to hear from God” A LOT. Please, tell me what you think!!!
Nathaniell
Your reaction is exactly what I try to convey to people. Learning on blogs and YouTube is fine, but you really get a lot more out of a full-on training program.
I agree with your coach on this one. ANY website can be profitable, but you also have to think about what people search for online. Is someone really going to search for how to have quiet time with God? Probably not. You need to think about the people who will be on your site. What’s their motivation for searching for stuff on your site?
The best example could be targeting someone going through a divorce, or the loss of a kid, or questioning their religion. These are the types of things someone might search for, that a Christian-focused site could help with. You could also focus on more practical things about the bible like “how to explain bible stories to kids”, or “understanding the language of the bible”.

really hoping it’s this guy! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bayard_Rustin
Nathaniell
It’s not him, but I didn’t know Rustin was associated with so many other people!
Jessie Schiewe
Aloha Roderick! I’m Jessie Schiewe (www.jschiewe.com), a former newspaper journalist in California who launched her own “weird news” publication last September. It’s called OK Whatever (www.okwhatever.org), and it’s sorta like how VICE was in the 90s, dishing out articles that are weird, interesting, random, and bizarre. We’re a month shy of our 1 year anniversary and we’re averaging more than 30K pageviews a month and have close to 200 articles (and tons of original art) on the site already.
Long story short….was wondering if I could hire you for a chat, to get guidance on marketing and how to lift the Google Adsense blacklist that was put into place on my site 2 weeks after it launched. (Yes, I’m an idiot for applying for Adsense so soon but I didn’t know! It definitely has to do with our “Naughty” section content….our most read section on the site of course. I’ve got an idea on how to potentially remove the ban but I’m by no means an expert on this and would love to chat with a profesh such as yourself to see if it’s a good plan, to get feedback, etc).
As a longtime journalist and newbie website owner (who definitely has lots to learn about marketing and how on earth to make money from running a website) I’m really glad I found you. You seem super rad and talented. (And yes, the fact that you named your pup after Matthew McConaughy’s character in True Detective Season 1 — the BEST season — def makes me like you more. My chihuahua’s name is Shiggy. Can you guess what that’s from?)
Anyhoo, check out OK Whatever (www.okwhatever.org) and let me know if you’d be interested in talking with me further. I’d really appreciate it.
Nathaniell
Well, you’re good at what you do because you piqued my interest! Shoot me an email and we can Skype or call. After about 3 years, you’re also the only one to guess where Rutin’s name came from!
PS. I don’t think you’ll be able to get around the Adsense ban unfortunately, or at least I’m not the one with expertise here. If it was your account that was banned, that’d be something different, but it’s the website, so even if the asset was transferred to someone else (or entity), the site would still be banned.
Curt Dawn
Hi Nathaniell,
I’m brand new to affiliate marketing, not new to business. I’ve been self-employed as a marketer with my own products for a long time. And I’m interested in affiliate marketing now. I like how you present yourself on your site – personal. You’re a very real person. It’s refreshing! Thank you!
Here’s why I’m writing to you today…
I have a buddy who was referred to an affiliate manager who specializes in the biz op niche. This manager knows all the offers that are converting great, okay, and poor in this niche. And he knows which products are generating the best revenues for his affiliate clients. I use to have a direct mail list manager who pointed me to the best performing (snail mail) mailing lists. It was a money-making and saving shortcut for me. My friend’s affiliate manager is a wonderful money-making shortcut for him.
Likewise, I’m looking for an affiliate manager who specializes in either the dating niche or ideally in the self-help/personal development niche. It would be ideal if this person was independent, i.e. not working for any single platform like CJ Affiliate or JVZoo. Ideally this manager can simply pick and choose the best converting offers and best revenues from each platform and has agreements with each, so the manager gets paid.
Question:
How do I find an affiliate manager like this to point out what products are working best for affiliate marketers in the niches I’m interested in? (Self-Help/Personal development and Dating niche) I can’t seem to find them online. Maybe you have a referral or a good way for me to seek them out?
I look forward to hearing from you and I thank you in advance. 🙂
Nathaniell
Personally, I haven’t heard of a cross-platform affiliate manager that could break down stats like that, but if you get involved in an affiliate network, your affiliate manager there could break down stats like EPC or RPM based on a specific program.
Where I’ve seen the most active affiliate managers though, are the ones in specific niches. For example the managers at CrakRevenue (adult offers), or RevOffers (cannabis) too.
Personally, I like the people at FlexOffers too.
I don’t think there’s going to be someone would could sum up the whole industry as a whole since not all companies advertise their conversion rates!

Hi Nathaniell.
I am very grateful to have found your site but I am not sure if it is for me.
I feel kinda stupid asking this question, but…..
If I just want to write creatively (very short stories) because I have dreamed of writing ever since I was young, but have recently discovered I have a knack for a certain type of fantasy writing (TBC by reader traffic and comment of course)…… and at the same time try to earn money through ad links, is this course of building a website (although I am thinking of it more as a blog but with reader interaction) still appropriate for me?
Please advise.
Thanx
Nathaniell
Writing creatively probably won’t get you very good results relying on Google and search engines alone. People search for information more, less-so for entertainment. Do you do search for short stories? I never have.
However, you could absolutely rock social media, as long as you start engaging with the right communities online.
Alternatively, you could start a website about a niche you are interested in, then promote your Kindle short stories on your site. Someone may land on your site looking for tutorials on how to write short stories, then get interested in your work. You could even do some kind of adult niche website, then get erotica readers that way.
