A.W. Surveys is a little bit different than most online survey sites. Instead of targeting large companies and looking for consumer opinions, the site is focused on providing feedback and evaluations of websites.
The site is also a bit more honest about how much money you can earn with surveys, claiming you can get paid up to $0.60 per survey. That amount is similar to most survey sites, but many survey sites exaggerate how much you can earn to get more people to join.
For the most part, A.W. Surveys doesn’t actually offer surveys. Instead, users fill out reviews of websites. In general, the reviews are supposed to be at least two sentences long and must be actual reviews.
This is kind of a good system compared to typical review sites because you don’t have to worry about qualifying. It also tends to be faster to complete a site review than to do a survey. However, there are still limitations of this approach.
At $0.30 per review you have to do 100 different reviews to even earn $30. That’s kind of a lot, regardless of how fast you do them. There is also a good chance that the site won’t even host 100 reviews at once, meaning that you have to wait for more to turn up.
Making money through A.W. Surveys means that you have to rely on the site. You have to assume that the site will keep giving you reviews when you need them and that they will pay you what they owe.
However, the terms and conditions for the site suggest that you take a risk with the company.
In particular, the site has the right to delete any of your reviews and even cancel your entire account without a reason and without liability. That means you could potentially lose hours’ worth of work on the site.
You really can’t become financially independent or even earn much money if you have to constantly rely on a site – particularly if that site doesn’t have much obligation to you.
Upgrading, Referrals and Offers
There are a few other elements of the A.W. Surveys site that I want to mention. The first of these is the ability to upgrade.
A.W. Surveys offers two different account types, basic and premium. The basic version is free, while the premium version costs $14.95 per year. The biggest difference between the two is how much money you earn. With premium, you earn $0.60 per review (versus $0.30 on basic) and you also earn more for referrals.
However, for this to be worth it you have to at least be doing enough reviews or referrals to earn that amount. That brings me to the next thing, referrals.
With A.W. Surveys you also earn some money for referring people to the site. Specifically, you earn a percentage (either 10% or 20%) of what they earn and a set amount if the person you refers upgrades.
There is some potential to earn money this way, but honestly not a lot. You would have to actually recruit people who were very active on the site and that’s not easy to do.
Finally, the site does have an area for offers, but when I wrote this review there weren’t any offers up. Realistically, offers are rarely a good way of earning money. Most of the time, offers require you to spend money, often on a trial or when shopping on another site.
This can easily end up with the entire process costing more than you earn.
I do like the concept of A.W. Surveys a bit better than most survey sites. However, it’s unlikely that it ends up being as good as it sounds.
Even if A.W. Surveys never banned any accounts and had an unlimited number of surveys, it would still be a very ineffective way of earning money. It would also be very repetitive.
If you want to make serious money online, you do need to avoid sites like A.W. Surveys. They might be good for a little bit of money here and there if you can stand it, but they are awful for anything more than that.
To make money online, you want a business that you have control over and that you can build up yourself. That approach is actually how I make money online and how many others do too.
