What is it?
5 Figure Machines is an eight-part video course that was created to teach you how to create, market and sell informational products.
Overall, I found this to be a pretty good product if all you want to do is create products and sell them without ever earning passive income. If you want to build a real business online that earns passive income for years, then this product isn’t for you.
Before You Buy
There is an upgraded version of 5 Figure Machine and it’s sold as an upsell. It’s called The Ultimate Profit Booster.
Supposedly this product goes beyond the measly 5k you’d earn with the original product, and takes it all the way to 15k. But wait a minute…what does “5K” have to do with anything?
The product you just sold me is called “5 figures”, not 5K. And wouldn’t 5k be only four figures?
I think someone got their wires crossed somewhere along the way. You can count it for yourself, but 15K (aka: $15,000) is five figures. Hmm.
It's also really dumb to think that a system has a “max” income. I always tell people that if you can figure out how to earn $5 online, you can learn how to earn $50,000. Once you have a system that works, it's just about refining and scaling the process. I have seen this work in my own websites, and I have consistently earned more money each year since 2010. The idea that a business caps out because of some inherent money limitations is silly, and just a marketing tactic to get you to buy more junk.
What I Liked
With all the effort put into this product I’m glad to say that it did have a few things that I really liked.
Finding Product Ideas
The first video in this course is all about coming up with potential product ideas. This video is only about ten minutes long but it’s very concise. Michael gets straight to the point and shows you several different ways you can find profitable product ideas.
Michael takes you through popular marketplaces and teaches you how to find products that are selling well, as well as how to find their potential problem areas. Then he shows you how to look for buyer’s questions so you can really refine your ideas. The goal is to find what the trends are at the time and see what products are selling and how you may be able to do it better.
I like his methods here because they are based on the buyer’s needs and not your own, which is important difference, and he makes it clear that it is important right from the start.
Learn the Basics of a Sales Funnel
Sales funnels are an important part of online marketing. They can be built in an endless number of ways depending on your niche, your product and your specific wants and needs, as well as your customer’s.
You already know what a sales funnel is even if you didn’t know that’s what it was called. If you’ve ever bought a product online, a burger from McDonald's or anything really, then you’ve been through a sales funnel. It’s the process of getting your interest, gaining your trust, selling you a product and then hopefully continuing to sell you even more products.
In 5 Figure Machines Michael shows you how to setup a basic sales funnel and he outlines some of the important parts in each step.
What was great though, is that he explained the importance and nuances associated with each step. So for example, Step one is getting your potential customer into your sales funnel — he explains the importance of trust here, and over-delivering later, so that you don’t break that trust.
It’s kind of a “30,000 foot view” of the funnel but it’s insightful and Michael does a great job of explaining it all.
What I Didn't Like
There are a few things I didn’t like about this product. You can learn more about those below.
Overall I felt like this product was pretty good for anyone who wants to try their hand at product creation. One of the problems I noticed though, was that it lacked some of the specific information you would need to actually get the product created and available for sale to the public.
Michael recommends using the marketplaces available at JVZoo and/or Warrior forum to host and sell your product. The problems is, he never tells you how to get that done.
I was hoping to see at least one of the videos containing step-by-step information on setting up an account and uploading your product to these marketplaces, but that didn’t happen.
With such a great looking members area, and video-only content I expected to see a bit more of a community aspect to this product. It’s nice to go through information like this, along with others who are doing the same thing.
Michael could’ve easily allowed comments on the videos, or created a forum, or a Facebook group for all his buyers. That would’ve given everyone a chance to bounce ideas off each other and created a much better end product. It allows you to get support from other members from different experience levels too.
Unfortunately there wasn’t anything like that.
Not a Complete Business Guide
Although you could build a business based solely on creating and selling digital products, there’s just not enough information in 5 Figure Machines to help you do that, especially if you’re a beginner.
To create a business like that you need to know how to build a website, optimize that website and drive traffic to it. That’s just one part of the equation — there’s a lot more making money from digital products than just listing them on JVZoo and looking for people to partner with.
Another example that’s missing from this training is email marketing. Email marketing is often touted as the most important element of a successful online business, especially for product creators. However, Michael never even mentions it. There are probably hundreds of other things just like that but you get the point; you can’t build a business based solely off the information in 5 Figure Machines.
There's a lot more that could have been done here to show you how to build a business from the products you create.
It's important that you understand that 5 Figure Machines covers just one aspect of online business. However, it's only one tactic — not a full business plan! It is one small piece of a much bigger picture. Without an existing business, website, or sales funnel, you can't actually profit from learning what they are trying to teach.
If you want to actually build a real business online from ground zero, join this online community where you can get step by step training and personal support from professional internet marketers, including myself. It's an environment that has produced many success stories for almost a decade now.
That community focuses on affiliate marketing though. If you really want to create your own product, you can still learn a lot about blogging and online marketing, but keep in mind that the training focuses on selling other people's products and earning commissions from sales (affiliate marketing).
Most products like this last just a few short months then disappear. That's the nature of hype in the business of making money online.
The only system I've seen last more than a decade is the same place where I learned how to start an online business. They've been around teaching newbies to make money online since 2006. You can join for free and start your first website in the next couple minutes
