Everyone has a different situation, so it's hard to cover everything in one post. I've divided these business plans into three different ways you can make money online with an online business, and how they fit into your educational goals. They are as follows
- For Someone Who Hasn't Started University Yet
- For Someone Who is Currently in University
- For Someone Who is Struggling With Money
For Someone Who Hasn't Started University Yet
If you're planning on going to college in the next year, or couple of years, you've got plenty of time.
In one year, or maybe even less, you could have a serious, money-making authority website (bold) that can provide you with residual income, and need very little maintenance from you during your years at school.
This will allow you to focus on your studies and other extracurricular activities, while still providing you with a decent amount of income, possibly meaning you don't have to find a job to help pay the bills.
But to establish authority, you need some time to set up the website, You'll need to build a strong presence in Google, learn all there is to know about your ‘industry', or ‘niche', and also to double check that the rankings and income you build will last (sometimes high rankings can be temporary, depending on how you build your site).
In fact, I would suggest building multiple income streams to ensure the stability of you online income.
But an authority site is definitely the best way to build a strong based for reliable, residual income for many years in the future. This is what I do, and you can learn how to do it in my 5 Day Email Course.
For Someone Who is Currently in University
Maybe you're currently going to school, and want a little extra cash to play with or make your life more comfortable. Maybe a situation has come up and you're going to need to pay more than you thought for next years classes.
Because your time frame is going to be a bit shorter, you need to make money more quickly. Though this is not a get- rich-quick scheme, it can be easier to rank for low competition niche keywords, or very specific niches that are part of a larger industry.
I also talk about this is my email course, but the basic idea is that you go for low competition keywords that are glazed over or not wanted by the big internet marketers, meaning you rank higher, & faster, and make money quicker.
Very often, because there isn't a lot of traffic going to these sites, the profit is not as big, but you can build a few and start making some money in a couple weeks (depending on your starting skill level and time devoted to learning).
For Someone Who is Struggling With Money
If money is a problem, and you need it NOW, then maybe building a business isn't going to be the best route to go. I would love to tell you that you can set something up and start making money next week, but it rarely happens that way.
Plus, to access premium learning materials, you're going to need to pay. Free information is out there, but it's scattered and hard to find, so you are going to need to spend a lot of time looking through it. You'll also have a hard time discerning what's high quality information, and what's a marketing ploy to get you to buy more stuff.
So my suggestion to you is to start freelancing.
You can sign up for sites like UpWork or Freelancer and offer your services to people that post projects there. Though your particular skill set will vary, if you can write, you can make money.
If you can write well, you can make good money.
By spending a bit of time doing research on a particular topic and writing high quality material on the subject, you can quickly establish a good reputation on these freelancing websites. Website owners, bloggers, and internet marketers will be flooding your inbox with projects to write for.
You can also explore other options like data entry, research, multi-media editing (video, graphic, audio), translations, and more. There is a multitude of projects listed every hour on these sites, and by getting short term or urgent project, you can often get paid within a few days or a week.
